2.2 liter engine, extreamly good MPG considering they said 20 on highway an got 32mpg with an auto. no power to pull anything with the 2.2 needed the 4.3 but that was 350 more per monthly lease payment. buy a real truck not a kids pedal car.Dec 20, 2012

This truck will take you anywhere and even through any kind of mud or water. It's very dependable and I would drive this truck anywhere. It's roomy to be a smaller truck and is very appealing and stylish to the eye.Sep 06, 2012

I do like the truck as a yard truck. I am able to pull trees with dual 6" truns out of the ground by the roots. I will probably put a plow on it & use it for my private road. Mar 11, 2012

reasonable performance: 1/4 mile is about 16 seconds. No major repairs needed.
Good appearance. Bad city gas milage. Decently fun to drive. Good off-road. Good
acceleration for 2.2L. Won a few races. Top speed: 94mph. Good small truck. I

The truck is a dog, the little 2.2 does not provide enough power. its a solid truck all vehicles get their noises with age but none have been unbearable. the design is solid and vary comfortable. and theres a large market for custom parts.Oct 05, 2010

I have the ZR2 package on my truck and BF
Goodrich all-terrain tires and would have
to say this truck is pretty tuff. Have
had no major problems other than a front
wheel bearing, granted I do keep up on
regular maintenance. It's not the best on
wet pavement but on snow or mud is hard
to beat, especially for the price. The
motor has great torque and pretty decent
power for a truck this size. Wish it was
a little easier to add substantial bolt-
on power but that is asking allot. The
biggest downfall would have to be the
seats and the turning radius, but when in
snow or mud, with enough room, put your
foot in it and that problem is gone
(forgot to mention the handles on
everything like to break). Overall one my

normally i would never buy a 2x4 truck because of the snow and traction. but now that i live in florida i don't have to worry about that. i got my truck with only 28k miles on it and as i write i just broke 32k on the odometer. i really love this truck. it is well built, has lots of power for what i use it for as a daily driver. the interior is well placed, easy to use and has all functions easily within reach. i did some upgrades to make the truck look nice and to put my personal touch on it. there are lots of accessories to choose from for the s10 from plenty of dealers. you should not have a problem getting what you want and installed too. i really love my lil s10 and highly recommend them as a mini truck. If you want something thats cost friendly and has a box, this is your best buy. As for performance, acceleration sucks! It is super slow. Hasn't really needed any repairs and is fun to drive. The look is appealing inside and out.Aug 22, 2009

The truck was great on and off-road. Never got the truck stuck. It had a 4 inch cowl-induction hood, custom exhaust, transmission was rebuilt and re-geared, black w/ tinted windows, 2-inch body lift, 34 inch all-terrain tires, and a good sound system. Jun 22, 2009

Performance-
Acceleration's alright, could be better but nothing a few aftermarket kits couldn't fix.
Braking is great, even on slippery roads or in snow.
Handling is very responsive, esp. for a truck.
Build Quality-
I've only replaced the 3rd door handle, which cracked because it's made of plastic and the truck is 8 years old. A $30 part. Solid otherwise. No squeaks or rattles, be prepared for some road noise with the bigger off road tires, however.
Appearance-
Interior is very rugged and durable. Cloth and vinyl. Replaced the cassette deck with a CD player and it's perfect now. Center console set up is extremely useful.
Exterior is great. Models range from off road style package to an extreme sport package. The LS is the happy medium, with nice looks and great functionality.
Cost of Ownership-
Gas mileage is fairly decent for a truck of this size. Another great reason to be able to switch between 2 & 4 wheel drive. Maintenance is minimal. Regular oil changes and a quick look over are all that's really needed.
Fun Factor-
Its no sports car, but this truck is fun to drive. It will get you where you need to go, no matter the weather.
I'd recommend this truck to anyone. Its a great first vehicle but its also a great all around vehicle.Dec 30, 2008

Good truck ran forever only problem with truck was torque convertor went out around 60,000 miles replaced it and never had another problem out of it. Was the perfect truck for someone without a family had to let it go to becuase was in need of more room. Great Truck!Oct 16, 2008

This truck has been nothing but nice to me. I've put close to 100,000 miles on the vehicle since I have bought it and the only thing out of regular maintenance I've had to do was a fuel pump. The cab is a little louder than I would want while driving but nothing that makes it intollerable. Fairly plain exterior which has probably good since I haven't had a problem with cops gunning for me. I have enough confidence that I expect to see close to another 100,000 out of it.Aug 29, 2008

it has great get up and go. Great offroad cappability, is able to get through anything! has a big 4.3 vortec engine which can smoke other cars. not the best gas milage but it makes its money in hauling. But you can throw a bunch of stuff in the bed and go on a road trip. a must buyAug 22, 2008

The Performance is good off the line with the V6 Model do the fact that it is a V6 and they are built for torgue. after about 3rd gear in the manual it starts to lose its acceleration but still is not bad. the brakeing are good, and with the handleing stock is a bit sloopy but with a aftermarket sway bar they turn like most sport cars The quaility of the door panels are not the best in the world but at least there not made by ford. but the body its self is great little to no rust build up, there still is some but it is the usal places like the wheel wells and the fram but still quite managleble. The Appearance of the stepside is quite a head turner due to the fact that there are not may of them on the road so it makes them quiet unique. beside getting 25 miles to the gallon they are little to no mainenance. the fun factor is way up there because there is lots you can do to a mini truck like this so wether it be low and slow or lifted and rippen down the road they are an over all great buy!!Aug 18, 2008

well its a L4 with a 5 speed transmission, ive up graded tha engine, suspension, & exhaust so it performs like a v6. its up keep isnt very high, but i have had to do an engine swap (bad radiator). tha abs breaking sucks ass. & depending on how you drive it, it will sip on gas like a honda. romp on it one good time, youll find yourself sideways in a heart beat, have fun watching your gas hand go down.
over all it is a great truck! i love driving it every day i get into it.

Bought new in '99 and still runs strong with 125,000 miles on it. Handling is responsive body roll is minimal and braking is good but still suffers from characteristics common to p/u trucks most notablly front/rear weight balance issue. But that should be expected, if you want better balance buy a Corvette. The Xtreme package is all about handling and appearance... not horsepower... it has the same V-6 as the S-10 Blazer and while the extra 10 hp and lighter weight give it a slight acceleration advantage over a standard V-6 S-10, it's not Xtremely quick and won't keep up with most V-8 cars. However the 4.3 L V-6 is a good strong engine and is capable of a lot more hp than Chevy gave it from the factory. Jul 29, 2008

The ZR2 S-10 had a really impressive stance, thats why I bought her. In addition to her performance. It came with the biggest V6 on the market (not necesarily the most powerfull) I put a Cold air intake on her, an exhaust and chipped her. She performed great but the seating configuration hurt my back. Probably could have fixed that though. I wish I haden't sold her.Jul 22, 2008

Brake lights turn signal trailer lights
Brakes don't work or turn signal but park lights do work. Checked fuses in cab and under hood found none to be broke or burnt. The cab brake light does work. Front turn signals do work as well. I have two blue capped connecters at rear of truck under bed about five inches or less from top and one long black capped one in center of frame. Which one is my trailer light connection?

can I start my 2000 S10 without the key?
I lost the key to my 2000 S10 so could I remove the lock and cylinder pull the pins from the cylinder but the cylinder back in and just use another key to turn it without having to tear up wires hot wearing it and risk setting off the pass lock? I'm sitting in a snowbank freezing to death wondering how to get it started please help

Transmission problem?
My 2000 s10 4x4 automatic wont shift from park. Yesterday, it would but would only get to 15/20 mph before dropping 1st and hitting neutral. Any thoughts on what may be the issue?
