Super Reliable Workhorse To Take You There And Back. — I have owned this car for 6 years and the only problem I've had with it was replacing the power steering pump a few years ago. It has driven all over the country on long road trips and I never have worried about not making it there or coming home. I have towed a small fishing boat with it almost every day of the summer and still haven't had any problems with power or handling. A great reliable vehicle.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Enormous cargo area
Reliability
Customizable

Cons: fuel economy

One Of The Best — All I Like About The Astro Is That You Can Trust It To Go Out With The Family Or With Friends. One Thing This Has Is That You Can't Really Have Much Cargo Space. To End This In Less Words Is That I Like It.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: It Has Space For Many People If You Want To Go Out With The Family.

Cons: It Has Very Few Cargo Space.

My Astro — I love my Astro van. It pulls our horse trailer with no problems. Of course having a Vortec V-6 helps. This van can really move. We have lapped sports cars on the interstate and really mede them mad. You could tell just by the look on tehir face.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: It can pull a 4 horse trailer

Cons: Nothing

Verey Safe Feeling To Drive. — Very comfortable to drive. This van drives in snow as well as a snow mobile. I drove through a bad snowstorm from Beloit Wisconsin to Newmarket New Hampshire and I saw about 30 cars off the road and about 19 Big Rigs off the road, All the rest stops were packed with cars and I would have not stopped but for my wife being nervous. I even purposefully hit a high patch of snow created by an area where cars avoided and the van acted like it was nothing.I have never felt so at ease driving in the snow.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great in snow.

Cons: Not so good on gas mileage.

My Astro — I like that I can fit lots of Girl Scouts in it. It comes in handy at cookie time and for camping. I hate that I have had to put thousands of dollars into it for issues with the breaks, fuel injection, and windows. I hate that it makes everyone car sick, including me when I'm driving in the mountains!

Pros: big

Cons: big

2000 Chevrolet Astro Review
says:
Quiet, economical, comfortable, decent enough looks, extremely trouble free for 300,000 miles. Needed to drill out distributor od down to get decent power and mileage out of it though. Calif ornaments requires fixed distributor, and that caused 18.8 mpg as best possible. After fixing that hold down, mileage jumped to 24.6 average and power took a quantum leap to unleash that 4.3 to its deigned horsepower.
