I owned a 1999 Aurora for 17 years. Best car I ever owned! Comfortable, smooth, fast. Got up to 26 mpg on the hwy! It was, however, not without its problems: Water pump failed, headlights stayed on and could not be turned off, then, went on and off on their own! Security problem with the chip in the key: Car would not start or even allow the ignition to turn on without waiting for three minutes each time. We were able to create a fix with the ignition switch wiring under the steering wheel. Power antenna failed. Cassette player failed. A/C failed. Radiator cracked. But, would absolutely buy another with low miles!Jul 24, 2020

I like it because it had alot of power.I put alot of money in that car. I put a new alternator,radiator,starter, and battery. I had it for 3 1/2 years. It has a 4.0 V8 DOC. It is fast. I punch the gas and im gone. May 05, 2010

Nice look, solid overall build. Some little things in the interior were broken from the previous owners, which is surprising at their age. It runs and handles well, fun to drive, fun to use, and good horsepower and luxury even for it's age.Oct 18, 2009

I haven't been able to open the passenger door of my 1999 Olds Aurora for 5 yrs. now, the mechanics can't get the door open to fix the problem. Any suggestions plz...

Outside door handle just flops around and the inside handle seems OK but won't open the door.

Low oil pressure

Is the oil pressure sending unit the same thing as the oil pressure sensor and/or switch. I am being told by a Cadillac service center that they are.

Oil level and pressure dashboaed digital readout problems for 4.0 motor

I just bought a 1999 Aurora with 87,000 miles on it, this is my 4th Aurora. I am experiencing some odd problems, all oil related. 1 - The motor monitoring system keeps telling me to "Check Engine oil level" when I do the dip stick reads "full". I have tried using the "Reset" button and the warning goes away but, I can turn the motor off and immediately restart the motor and I get the same warning. 2 - The "Oil Pressure readout" reads "Low Oil Pressure" when I get off of the freeway when I get to a stop light and have to stop, the pressure drops to zero according to the digital read out on the monitoring system. This does not always happen.
