Check engine light was on and went out on its own?
Check engine blinked intermittently for a few moments, then went out The check engine light had been on for some time due to exhaust immersion pump fail. Why would the light now be out.

I like the fact even though its older it holds a value, It kinda reminds me of a tesla and bmw all road together with class and definess. It has a smooth look and definitely would turn heads.Nov 09, 2020

Interior is all leather, extremely roomy, huge trunk, great looking car. I wish I could have another one. enough power to go anywhere. Fuel economy not so great but who cares when you have a v8 dual cam under the hood. They are expensive to fix, but luckily I am a mechanic so for me it just cost more time. But to be simple...I loved this car and you can't spell perfection any other way.Mar 27, 2015

Literally I love everything about this car! Love the info center, will always tell you everything, never have to guess. moisture sensing wipes are amazing!, super roomy and comfy interior!! Blind spots are very minimal due to larger mirrors. I could go on and on, hands down this has been my favorite car of all the cars I have owned!May 20, 2013

The turning radius is not as good as other cars I've had, but it handles great otherwise! I've enjoyed good gas mileage, comfortable interiors, gReAt sound system, compliments from passengers, low insurance rates and pretty easy ownership and maintenance costs!Dec 18, 2012

has 160,000 miles on it currently and is driven
on
a daily basis, in the harshest of
conditions...the "start & stop" traffic of New
Jersey. Great car to drive anywhere! Very

I love everything about this car except for the transmission speed sensor wiring. It's been a pretty reasonable car to maintain. Transmission was replaced at 121,000, but the engine continues purring along just about as a new one, just with a little less gas mileage than I'd prefer.Mar 07, 2011

Its a fine line between performance and luxary when it comes to Oldsmobiles, specifically the Aurora. Not only is it a full size, fully loaded, sedan but it also comes with some of the best handling for a car its size. Always a smooth comfortable ride. The design of the interrior of the car is very driver friendly. Olds didnt skip anything when making auroras, from the leather to the bose sound systems, from the heated seats to the rims, overall one of the best cars GM has ever made. Oct 02, 2009

Build Quality: No problems. A big bigger than I'm used to, but excellent handling
Appearance: Leather, sunroof, and the works
Cost of Ownership:gas is a pain in the ass.

Its a cadillac STS with a slightly smaller motor. Acceleration doesn't make you forget its a v8. Interior and Exterior are both nice and doesn't look cheap. Wish the v8s had standard moonroof and heated seats, even though it has rain sense wipers and memory seats. Nice riding car.Feb 25, 2009

performance its a mid size car with a 4.0 so vary good acceleration and it handles well if not a little to heavy in the front end the rear and kinda slips around to much for my taste
Build quality seems to be very poor many small fixes and issues to be dealt with.

I have owned my 2001 Olds Aurora 4.0 for almost 8 years. I have been driving since 1960 and all that time I have driven more than 100 cars ranging from the 1941 to the 2008 model years. When all the factors that make a good car are considered, this Aurora is easily the best of that bunch. There simply is not enough room here for me to say how great this car is.
And when I buy a new car again, what I buy will be determined by how much that car is like the 2001 Aurora 4.0.

Beauty of a car... pearl white and looks fast just sitting... sad because the electronics seem to be a bit testy but overall I love this car
So far, cost of ownership is low but it's a bit early to tell for sure... I would recommend to others...

Beautiful car in my opinion. i love it, it is well built, well balanced, and a tremendous value for all the options it has. not the cheapest on parts, but i still love it. a dream to drive, every time i get behind the wheel, it's relaxing, yet powerful when provoked. a true blend of stunning looks and practical performance. want more power? get the 4.0, but kiss gas milage goodbye. This is one of the best looking cars ever produced. Even almost 9 years after purchasing the car, it still looks better than most mercedes, acura, infiniti, lexus, and caddilac models. It has great aerodynamics which help the mileage greatly on the highway.
the only major issue was that it needed a transmission rebuild due to the control module going berzerk. I wish we had the 4.0L version as it would be even more fun to drive but it handles well, accelerates nicely, and is a great cruiser as is. Jul 19, 2008

The Aurora was redesigned in 2001, and the new design left the car with a sportier, and more modern look. This car was Oldsmobile's last attempt at an entry luxury sedan - it was available with two engines a 3.5L V6 and 4.0L V8. Standard features include leather upholstery, 6 way memory power seats, burlwood dash, projector headlamps, power everything.
This car is a driver's car. The center stack is sharply angles toward the driver with radio and temperature controls within close reach. On the top of these controls is the Driver info center which has a variety of features, including, date, time elapsed, fuel used, fuel range, fuel economy, oil pressure, voltage, etc. This info center also communicates messages to the driver, like "Headlamps Suggested" or "Change oil soon".
