I like that the motor and transmission is very strong, as well as continues to run strong. However the gas mileage isn't the best. But has great room in front seat and back seat as well. Have a baby on the way so kinda want something that's better on gasMay 21, 2014

I've put a lot of demand on this truck sence I've owned it and its held up to it all. The truck looks awesome paint is still perfect minus rust but its 15 years old, seats are extremely comfortable, Great off road haven't had to lift it yet.May 02, 2014

I have owned this truck since 2001. It had 40,000mi on it when I purchased it. It now has 165,000mi. I've been through several front ends on this vehicle. Ball joints, steering components, hub Assemblies, rotors, pads, you name it... I've been through at least 2 replacements on each. 4 wheel drive is fantastic in the snow! One of the main reasons why I'm hanging on to it, plus with 2 kids it serves as a nice family SUV. It's paid for and I'm driving this one into the ground.Mar 21, 2014

No disapointments or dislikes that i can think of. I own 2 1999 Lt and a 2002 Ls both have 4 wheel drive. The one and only regret not realizing how good of a vehicle this is years ago. Thank you for reading this .this suv is not for sale any longer .Apr 27, 2012

I explained above in the pros and cons. For it being such a small engine, it gets terrible gas mileage as well. It has left me stranded more than once, and im huge on preventative maintenance. Its had a fuel pump, water pump, all new front suspension, intake manifold gaskets, coolant temp sensor, mass airflow sensor....Nov 15, 2011

drivin in the snow. its also very fast I love this blazer. acceleration is good it is a
very fast blazer. IT handles very good in the snow I slide sideways on purpose

Cost 4000 to 5000 for maintenance. It also was to the shop every 2 weeks. And it was not a smooth ride. And the mpg was bad. It was not fun to drive. Im glad they stop making them. I love my new suv better. Feb 19, 2010

Performance is great as the 4.3L v6 has lots of get up and go for the SUV. braking is great with 4 wheel discs. Handles good but it is an SUV so it is somewhat top heavy.
Build quality isn't bad for GM. It is better than my base model S-10 I had. The rear glass hatch vibrates some days when it is below zero.
I think the exterior styling is somewhat sporty for this vehicle. Inside it is plain but very functional.
It can be a pig on fuel but only when using the 4x4 for most of the day. Otherwise just driving on the road it is fine. I get around 20 mpg but about 17 when using 4x4 a lot or out offroading with it .
It is a pretty fun truck to drive. Even more fun playing in snow or mud though. Plus is plenty of room in the back for a sub woofer.Jan 20, 2010

got this truck for free , has 307+ kilometers on it . i use it for a field truck ,i have taken it out in big mud pits , and gone up steep hills . as i do live on like 120 acres . its pretty good on the road too ,i put it into drive , and just touch the gas the tires spin , i got it to 140 kmph pretty quick . few minor problems , ball joints are going , when i park it on a hill and i got slim to none gas in it , it wont start . then when i put gas in it , the gauge goes back and fourth . but overall its a nice truck .Nov 09, 2009

ive had the truck for a few months now, got a wicked deal on it, but not long after had to put a bunch of money into it... self conflicted... but still, overall i love it! fun to drive, lots of power, looks sharp! but... on the downside, its thirsty! VERY thirsty! im a bit of a lead foot though so that doesnt help, im only getting 16 mpg... eek! working out of town SUCKS! but i love it, its gonna get some lift treatment and tires soon... cant wait!!! The performance is definately bad, the build quality is worthless, the appereance isn't too bad but it could use sum touch-ups. Gas mileage is pathetic, and the maintenance is bad as hell. Over all the car is fun to drive when its not squeakin or makin noise. I suggest u don't buy aftermarket rims and tires for it because it makes it ride like crap.Jul 24, 2009

Transmission problems, Fuel gauge problems, air conditioning fluid leak, wiper fluid leak, of course 120,000 miles puts some stress on it. Kind of small for an SUV. Suspension is great for stock, 4wd is great. Not too expensive. Overall it's good enough to drive and relieve stress rather than drive and give you more stress.May 26, 2009

Car had been sunk, dealer was a fraud jerk. Needed a transmission replacement. Issues were all related to the dealer. Appearance was great. Loved the color, green, body style, boxy. Interior was in good shape. SUV's are fun to drive in any weather. I was way over charged by the dealer. High pressure sales, so I married a car guy to I would never get taken advantage of again.Nov 10, 2008

Good stock speakers, nice interior, nice exterior except for the cracked panel underneath the front bumper (Whoops!!), the gas mileage isn't terrrible (around 19 MPG). Also another drawback is that is doesn't have a CD player but buying a tape with a headphone jack makes it able to play iPod & a CD player.Aug 19, 2008

Not a bad vehicle at all. Sucks down the gas a little. Although it is pretty torquey (4.3L vortec) it isn't gonna win any races. Interior is typical 90's GM affair- big gaps, hard plastics, and lots of exposed screws. Mine was loaded with all the bells and whistles, but after six years, alot of those features didn't work or only worked when they wanted to i.e. power mirrors, rear door locks, etc.Jan 23, 2008

Engine won't crank and just clicks when you turn the key?
I am working on a 99 Blazer 4.3 l vortec 4 wheel drive. When I go to turn the key it just clicks. Put a brand new starter in it check the battery battery is good. Checked all ground wires and all wires and they are good. I can turn the motor over by hand a full rotation. When I get back in the car and turn them with the key it just clicks every once in awhile it'll partially turn but then I'll just go back to clicking. What is causing it just to click. I just replaced the intake manifold gaskets and once everything was put back together properly and want to start the vehicle it just clicks can somebody please help me.

Where is the starter in a 1999 4-door Chevy Blazer and how do I test to find out if it needs to be replaced?
When trying to start my 1999 Blazer it only makes clicking sounds and won't start. I have checked the fuses (seem okay), Charged the battery and tried the lights and wipers - they seem to work fine and the dash lights come on. I would like to check the starter to see if that's the problem. I looked under the hood but I must be blind as I cannot see it. I can't check the alternator until the car turns over. I don't know if it is a 4dr. LS 4WD Suv. or a 4 Dr. LT 4WD Suv.
