1998 GMC Safari Review
BF says:
van sat before I bought it. I put on brakes pads, R side lines, rotors, bearings, idler arms, and had the distributor gear replaced & alignment done in-shop. drove her on her maiden voyage 1995 mis straight through from MI. home to key West, Fla... NO PROBLEM. (till i got in an accident) :(

Its A Great Family Car And Or Busnes Car For Transporting Cargo — I owned one for 5 years put over 250k on mine til at 418 k it blew the front crank seal. i was disheartened when i sold it due to not having the money to repair it as i would still be driving it to this day. for a large van it was a pretty smooth quiet ride and did everything i needed it to do.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: great for hauling everything from small boxes to four wheelers and dirt bikes( had both in the back of it at the same time.) aside from when you turn it feels like your going to roll it it drives and handles very well for a tall vehicle. it has great towing capacity for rvs and trailers and with load shocks can handle a fairly heavy load. it has plenty of people space inside making it roomy and relaxing for long drives or just around town.

Cons: some parts can really bite into your wallet when going for repairs such as the fuel pump assembly it costs roughly 800$ in most places to get a replacement. this model has been discontinued since 2006 and parts are starting to get scarce for it which is a shame. and the fuel mileage is barley worth it having a 80L tank it can empty your wallet pretty easy in a week if you do alot of back and forth driving in town. but high miles are not as bad.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: nothing

Cons: hmm it was a white miniture cube van

Good For Hauling The Family Around. Nice Ride Height. Better Fuel Mileage Than Full Sized Van. — Does alright for a van. Easy to maintain. Better than earlier generation of van to work on.

Pros: Nice space for travelling with family.

Cons: I don't get to drive it as much as I'd like to.

It Litterally Was A Box On Wheels, But It Still Was One Of My Faves — I remember sitting in the van watching the world go by, I have some pretty good memories in it.

Pros: Sturdy, and big xD

Cons: breaks down ALOT!

Reliable, Awd Keeps You Out Of Trouble, Truly Awesome In Snow — Good seating, awesome awd, lasts forever, great towing, always enough power from the 4.3 v6

Pros: Never gets stuck, room for all your friends and everything they own

Cons: Utilitarian, not a chick magnet for sure
