1998 Ford Windstar Review
says:
Great power. Has 239xxx miles and still going. Transmission starting to act up. Had wheel bearings replaced at 220xxx. Great gas milage. Water pump and belt replaced at 210xxx. Before replacing bearings and water pump still had all original parts. Wouldnt be surprised to still get about 30xxx more miles even with transmission acting up. Great car for all weather types.

Great Value For The Money! — Not going to find another car for this cost and this low mileage! This was my grandmother's vehicle. It was used lightly and cared for well. She used it mainly as an around town car to go back and forth to the grocery store when she was still able to drive.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great price for a very low mileage car! Holds lots of cargo and passengers!

Cons: Some body blemishes, as this is an older vehicle.

Make Sure Previous Owners Kept With Maintance On The Van — I really dont like the handling on the van. Maybe because its an older model. I love the fact that it has alot of leg room. And so much room for cargo. In a way it is a fun car to drive. Not good mileage but fun.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Room.and more room , speed control  a plus

Cons: I didnt know that each tire has a senor on them which is expensive. Also the air conditioning on these vans are expensive to repair

The Good Overrides The Bad. — This vehicle is very roomy and hauls up to 7 people or anything else. Maintenance has been low. Performs well in any type of weather condition. Good looking inside and out, hold up to the element (weather and children) Comfortable ride with plenty of storage room in the back

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Fun to drive.

Cons: Back seats are very heavy, when wanting to remove to haul.

A Good Van For Getting The Groceries — Bought this vehicle used, and was pleasantly suprised with the peppiness and acceleration. It has 240K miles on it and I wouldn't be suprised if it goes another couple hundred thousand. The interior controls could have been laid out a bit better, but all in all I have beem happy with this vehicle.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: great van

Cons: Mileage is only 21/gal

Its A Beast — I only gave it 5 stars because it wouldnt let me give it 6. Yet another durable Ford, we tried so hard to blow it up and it wouldnt. Transmission had no fluid for awhile and did countless redline nuetral drops into drive....also 30mph in reverse, dump into drive, massive burnout, transmission was still perfect. It also was a good mudder.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Its the Van that Can

Cons: Dont buy one if you dont love power and speed

No — It broke all the time and never worked quite right. The steering didn't work very well and made grinding sounds. I don't think the gas mileage was good at all but I don't have a number. It probably isn't a fun vehicle.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: comfortable interior, large

Cons: low quality

What Could Have Been Excellent Is A Fair — Performance- Not the best but it does have strong 3.8 v6 rated at 200 hp. i mean its not great but its pretty good for a minivan Build quality- its had a lot of problems with the emission system and the transmission blew out 25000 miles ago. Appearance- Perfect... if you're a soccer mom, but im gonna customize it so it will be lookin fly when im through with it Cost of ownership-idk Fun factor-idk

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: so i can trick it out and i dont have to buy a car

Cons: its only got a 3.8

I Dont Know, I Love It! — ok.... good acceleration i mean, it's a v6! it's very comfortable and have a good appearance if we talk about a family car xD haha by the way, i don't wanna talk about fuel comsuption.. and of course it's fun to drive it cuz we are talking about a family van with a powerful engine!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: big space everywhere

Cons: sometimes a little hard to park
