Hi I have 1996 Mitsubishi Mirage Coupe. It will not run without having gas pedal depressed at all times. It dies and then has to be jumped to restart. I had a gadget placed on the engine that shows defective part # but can't remember what it was. I THINK it was air valve. Please advise. Thanks so much!!

I have a 1996 Mitsubishi Mirage. The gas gauge appears to work properly until the gauge reaches below half a tank. Basically it shows there is less gas than what there is. When the gauge is completely on E it appears there is still 2-3 gallons in the tank. I say this because when I fill it up on E it takes about 10.5 gallons however I have a 13 gallon tank. What would cause this problem? Fuel level sensor or Fuel sending unit or something else?
