The appearance of the car is that of an old cop car. It is a very comfortable vehicle that seats 6 passengers. The build quality is outstanding, the car barely needed anything done to it, and when it did everything was cheap. The acceleration is no sports car but its safe. The braking and handling both are good. Very Safe vehicle.Nov 28, 2013

It drives good. But the real problem is the passkey system that Chevy installed on
it. Other than the fact that it cranks when it wants to, it drives just fine. The car is
big enough for a whole family. It is rather fuel efficient and fun to drive.May 14, 2012

I liked the comfort for long trips. This car had minimal road noise. Always started no matter the weather. Very reliable car never was left stranded. The only negative thing I can say was the paint peaking issue, otherwise great car.Mar 25, 2012

Amazing family car that just has everything a family needs. Ours had the big v6 engine so power was never a problem and it was very easy on the wallet. She is not a sports car but, she has some pep...Oct 19, 2011

I have a 1995 Chevy Lumina, that has 208,000 miles on it, peeling paint, but I only paid 500 dollars for it, so I am not going to complain as of now. I like the way it handles, but I am a little worried about how it will handle on snow and ice, as I just got the car.Nov 27, 2010

It's in perfect condition. It's my baby. :) I love this car. It's super fast, and it drives
like a sports car. I never have to get it fixed. It's fun to drive, and it gets great gas
mileage. The interior is so comfortable too. Sep 08, 2010

I have a white 95 base Lumina sedan. This car is so plain, it should have "Generic" stenciled on the sides (and the way the paint is peeling, it may get the stencil sooner or later.)
It's a fine little $1200 car, gets decent mileage, and the A/C works here in Tucson.
It's had minor problems, the EGR was loose, the thermostat was stuck open (previous owner was running straight water in the radiator,) and the return hose for the power steering arced on the alternator and started to leak oil all over the carport. When I got it in January, for $1200, the previous owner had replaced the windshield and put a set of new tires on it. He'd buggered up the A/C, but a little artic cool solved that problem
Fun? Well, not very. But it's comfortable, very quiet, and loves the highway. If I had money, I'd be driving a sports car. The Lumina is very good value for not a lot of money.
I think if I treat it nice, it'll last forever. Might even have it repainted at Maico or Earl Scheib!May 22, 2010

Performance - sucks all around
Appearance - very grandma like
Cost of ownership - this thing is just terrible on gas and I get 18-23 on a
good day.
Fun - this is simply an a to b car with no frills or goodiesApr 30, 2010

I loved this car. I inherited it from my parents when they bought a Ford Edge so I could get to the college without having to rely on friends. I beat the crap outta that car. That car was very solid, pity I was such a harsh driver. Petal to the metal acceleration eventually took its toll on the transmission and the engine it seems. In terms of performance, it was fast. I due to lack of road I never broke 170km/h but then again that car wasn't meant to go super fast. It gave me the impression of being more power and strength than speed. Build Quality. HAHAHAHA. It doesn't matter how tough you build a vehicle, you'll always find a way to break it. If I took care of it, I'd still be driving it. Everything that happened with that car was my own fault :P Appearance. Not the nicest car... doesn't compare to something like... I dunno, a Chrysler 300? But it was a good one. All the dents and scratches I put in it offroading just added character to it. Nothing quite gets me like people in their big shiny 4x4 trucks, babying them, never taking them off city streets. Where here I am, barrelling down back roads, climbing mountains, doing things that car was never meant to do. It didn't cost too much to own. Apart from the repairs, less than $2000 for insurance and about $80 bucks a fill. I managed to get roughly 400 km out of a tank but then again that was usually with me speeding to and from Cranbrook so that always hurt the tank a little. I found that car "Fun" enough that I regret being so hard on it. If I had a choice in what car I have now, I probably would have gone and bought another. So yea... I'd recommend it.Nov 12, 2008

Great CAR! I beat the hell out of this thing and yet it is still running with over 130K miles to it. The matienence can be a little tricky with some spots having little room. Was a nice looking car at one point before I started driving it everyday.Just about your average get to everywhere car. Not really a stand out. Jul 21, 2008

It's a sleeper car so far. Aftermarket radio and speakers. Would like to get a little more performance. Needs different exhaust or none at all. Great gas mileage so far (20 City - 25 HW). Great handling for a car this size. Parts are a bit over priced if you go with Genuine GM. Jul 01, 2008

Over all the performance is good for the engine its got. Its carrying a 3100 v6 under the hood. it still gets up and goes and stops good. Its built really sollid. nothing is really bad about it. Its really convinent all around. The interior and exterior is in great shape. There's a paint run on the hood but besides that its great. It gets 30+ mpg and maintenance is fairly cheap. Its a really good drive. really solid car. I would recomend this car to friends as a school car or a first car. eventually get a newer one because its getting to be pretty oldJun 27, 2008

Not a bad car for the money. Just had the typical Chevy problems that was either basic maintenance or caused by me beating it up. Definitely a comfortable car that was actually pretty quick.May 29, 2008

This car was actually a good sedan for its age. It had a V6, so its fuel economy was average. It safely transported us for years. Then, I messed it up.
Oh man, I sped like crazy with this car. The fastest I've ever went was 80 MPH on a 35 MPH street. Our Lumina's motorcycle-like exhaust note just gave me more encouragement to go zoom zoom. I sped excessively on almost every road that I drove. Surprisingly, the only Police Tickets that I've ever gotten with this car were Parking Tickets. Yeah, I was a crazy driver back then. Ha ha.
My insane driving severely damaged our Lumina on the inside. I know what exactly got damaged, but I don't want to explain because it is difficult for some people to understand. The damage was very expensive to repair. Thus, we gave it up to our trusted technician and got a little money for it. That's why I don't drive like that anymore.Feb 13, 2008

Well, a '94 lumina looked like a box with wheels - the '95 lumina had the more modern curved look and actually held the look and feel way into 2000... Anyway, i treated that car like crap. I put it up on two wheels driving around a corner, i crashed it several times, and while i was doing 80 over a curved bridge (with no shoulder) the front axle came off (no joke!). Fortunately, the fact the axle was crammed under the car worked like a braking system and i pulled over as far as I could on the right lane.
So besides being some kind of secret military tank, the car had issues under the hood. I blew 3 gaskets in a period of 3 years!! I mean, c'mon! I know this type of engine had a tendency to blow them - but usually only once. So the gasket would blow, and all the coolant would fly out of the car - fun stuff.
Other then that she was a great car until I jumped her over some train tracks. Would have ended out great if I hand't jumped over the tracks crooked. When I came down out of the air I drove into the curb that knocked the front end out of alignment.
Oh - and the trunk wouldn't shut after awhile. So I taped it down with duck tape. And once my friend got drunk and rammed into the passenger side door with his head. He meant to do it tho - not an accident.
So the car had been through a lot - but still wasn't ready to retire when I left it behind in 2005. (I had originally picked up the car as a used vehicle with 60k miles in '99 or '98). Someone actually came around and bought it off me for $500. Wow - what a trooper vehicle.Nov 29, 2007
