i actually did like the car it was fun to drive decent on gas about 30 mpg with the 2.2 l4 engine had to do lot of repairs but what do u espect for 400.00 car it was a tough car ran out of oil still ran ran out of coolant 2 times stilll kept going it finally died beuse the wireing harness to the computer got caught in the belt bad design where they put the computerDec 11, 2012

This car was handed down to me when my sister went to college. Right
away I put new speakers and a deck in because i hated the factory
speakers and deck. This past year, I had my two JL W0's installed. Overall,
the car is very reliable and I like the way it drives. It has the power of a
sports car but good gas mileage. I think both of my doors have bad seals
because you can hear the wind when driving on the highway. This has

BEST car ive ever owned..every problem light could be on but the car still kept running, got us through crazy blizzards and never got stuck once..always started in cold weather without being plugged in.
car is 3 different colors, teal,rust and primer lol, also a loud muffler to go with it made everyone look, was louder then most ricers lol so fun to drive..will miss this car very muchOct 20, 2011

Fun car but was charge too much for it. Paint job is coming off. Shocks are getting
bad. I enjoy having the top down on a beautiful day and going to the beach. Nice

i have had this car for 3 yrs now, it wasn't running for a year, I rebuilt the motor andd got some more power, and the suspension upgraded. It's a fun car to drive and i do like the look of it, the body rusts in certain spots and that sux, but its in the shop for the body work now, so it's all good. it just needs more aftermarket support, fun 5speed though.Nov 08, 2009

Had this car for driving to school. It was just okay. Had lots of issues (ABS, Air Bags, and Transmission). It was during the stike of GM, so they had this car for 2 months while waiting on the transmission to show up. My Performance in my car is pretty good. Acceleration could be better, but braking and handling are perfect. It doesn't have any squeaks or rattles. Appearance is good. I need to clean the carpet to make it look even better. I have four dents on the exteriror. Those will be fixed as soon as i save up some money. The Cost of Ownership has went down since i have done many repairs on it. Hasn't gave me any trouble in about a year. Gas is better then most and I LOVE to drive this car!!Feb 16, 2009

Performance: Yeah its really not much, 4 banger delite at 115hp.
Build Quality: Trannsmission was a joke, head gaskets blew yearly.
Appearance, lets be honest, few people like these cars looks, they are basic transportation and nothing more.
Cost of ownership: Good on MPG, bad on everything else.

standard performance so far, no engine mods yet, curretnly being repaired and painted(orange with two 5 1/2 black racing stripes) interior alpine sound system, gas is cheap motor runs perfect, burns out pretty easily in first and second, fun to drive.Jan 04, 2009

Well what can I say? Its a 95 cavalier, it is what it is. The car gets good gas mileage, has been dependable and its not a bad looking car. As far as performance goes there isnt much to speak of! Accelerations ok, the braking is good and it needs new struts. If it just wasnt for the rust spots its developed over the years I would like to keep for awhile, I Hate rust! Sep 29, 2008

Good, stable, reliable vehicle. Great on gas. Sporty appearance. The quad 4 engine has it's share of problems to access parts of the engine, but if you aren't working on it yourself it's not a big deal. This car definitely took care of me and my needs. Well anybody who knows how I drive, also knows that I need to drive a car that can take an ass whooping. My Cavi can take a beat down, handle some curves, and stop on a dime... its kinda cute too. Its not too small because I had to drive the whole basketball team last year. Anyway if you are looking for a car that doesn't ever need any major work, I would definetly recommend a Chevy Cavilier, its a great car for a student.Aug 20, 2008

nice car that was put through hell for the sheer enjoyment of myself. has a 2.2 in it and does not like to go over 100mph cause it rattles abit. for cross country races it owns and has the trans is what i had problems with because i needed it rebuilt 2 timesJul 27, 2008

I love my cav. I have had it for five years now and have been using it as my project car. It has some mods but not something that will tare up a 1/4 mile. It does have some rust, detns, and scratches but those will all be adressed in time. I have friends that respect the things that I have done with my car because it is not a top choice of car that people tune. For the same reason many people tell me that I should get rid it and get something more worthy of being improved. Anti-Theft light stays on 24/7. No passlock sensor on the ign lock cylinder. Stumped.
My "Anti-Theft" light stays lit. Starter will engage and engine turns but will not fire. I thought it may be a passlock issue. There is no passlock sensor on the ignition. I've been told it may be an instrument cluster issue but have had no success in finding a solution other than buying a new instrument cluster. This light came on and stayed on a few weeks ago and the car would start when it felt like it. Sometimes in neutral, sometimes in park, sometimes not at all either way. Now it cranks til the cows come home but won't fire. I've taken the entire dash and steering column covers off with no luck. All fuses are good/have been tested. What am I missing here? Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. I've been searching relentlessly for the past four days and have read every forum asking about the passlock system, ways to disable it, diagrams, pictures. I am stumped. Not sure if someone jury rigged it before since the sensor is missing or if it's using prior model year parts. It's a decent cheapo econo car that has run great for the past 9 years for me...only has 94k miles on a 20 year old car. Can I just wire up a push button start?

after I started the car then it died the anti theft light on the dash was staying on blinking , then the car wouldn't turn over or anything till I unhooked the battery then hooked it back up then the same thing over and over ,today I replaced ignition switch , now the car will start then die , but now I just turn the key off and the anti theft light goes out , but it still only runs for a few seconds . can anybody tell me what to do ?
