Best Performance Car I Have Ever Bought! — Its an RX7 FD. Style, performance, look, thrill of ride, is like no other car out there. Drive it on the weekends and look for experts to do any work on it that I cant handle. High demand, like the supra, and priced a little lower than one.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Excellent performance and handling. A thrill to own and drive.

Cons: Well its rotary! That's a pro and a con.

I Love It Based Solely On Reviews. I Cannot Wait To Drive It And I Hope My Expectations Are Met! — This car has sat since I bought it. I needed to complete another car before I started on this one. I'm VERY excited to get started on it. Been WAY too long. This thing should be an absolute joy to drive.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: If you have taste.

Cons: If you have a mullet.

A Quick Look At The Fd Bodystyle Rx-7 — Acceleration is a bit slow until the turbochargers spool, and being a 1.3 liter rotary, that takes a while as well. Otherwise, a very fast car. Brakes are made for the track, so they're not touchy and you have to know how quickly you need to stop before you press them. Handling is spot-on, but it's very quick to oversteer. You pay a premium for this car, though. They're difficult to find, both in the car itself and in parts for it, which makes it expensive. Rotary engines are naturally designed to burn oil to lubricate the rotors, so it eats Royal Purple Synthetic like a model eats diet pills, and for such a small engine, the gas mileage isn't much better than a stock Mustang or Camaro.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: The performance

Cons: The price

Great Car Still A Relevent Performer 15 Years Later — Performance: Good progressive acceleration. Good braking abs kicks in very late. Handling is balanced with a tendency to push when the limits are reached. Quality and Appearance: Not bad for a 94, plastics get old, but everything else has help up well. Cost of ownership: High, 12-20mpg avg 16mpg. Can be expensive to repair. Fun Factor: Car is a blast to drive, enough power for the chassis, suspension is good for the speeds attainable.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Turbo Rotary that handles like a dream

Cons: Turbo Rotary

Awesome Car And Will Own The Car For A Very Long Time. — Performance is awesome, grips great, accelerates like nothing else and feels like no other engine. The cost of maintanence is a little higher but its all worth it. The car is an absolute blast to drive and loogs great inside and out.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Fast, Fun, Handles Great, Gorgeous

Cons: Gas Mileage isn't amazing, need to know rotaries.

The Rotary Rocket — The 3rd generation Mazda Rx-7, although it was only sold it for 3 years (93-95 in the US and 93-2001 in Japan and Europe) It's fast fun and you will develop a relationship with it whether that's good or bad. You have to love it to be able to enjoy owning it and be able to look past it's inherit problems. In short, this car is epic win on wheels.

Pros: fast...very fast..., timeless design, rotary engine, twin turbo comes stock, head turner

Cons: Not for the faint of heart.

Mazda Rx-7 — Well. Where to start? This car is a monster. And definitely a woman. It is one of the most unique cars ever made, and it was made with the purpose of being the best "proper" sports car possible. It has the (in)famous twin-turbo rotary engine, capable of 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds, whilst consuming petrol at a rate which noticeably affects the local climate. It handles unbelieveably, when cornering, you simply cannot understand how it can keep gripping at such outrageous speeds. And it looks gorgeous. It is quite a small vehicle, very low to the ground, and when you contort your body to get in the door, you realise that it only offers the absolute minimum of space for its occupants. As this is an old car (produced 92-02) there are minimal safety features. My car has ABS, seatbelts, and, um, that's it! No airbags, no traction control, no warning systems. As a result, it can be tricky to drive in the wet, and when it snows, it's better to walk. But in the dry, it is incredible. Driving, it feels like the car has nothing but total disdain for you, the feeble driver, who pootles around at these pitiful speeds. Any legal speed feels like this. This car is made for much more, and public roads simply cannot take it. There is a cost for all this though: insurance here in the UK is astronomical, fuel costs are absurd (I got 17mpg driving normally), and it needs regular servicing, preferably new oil every 3000 miles. Is it worth it? For me, for everyday use on public roads, no. Maybe I just don't earn enough to keep her happy. But I won't sell her.

Pros: Speed, handling, style, uniqueness, thrilling to drive

Cons: Cost, total lack of practicality, speed cameras, police, things you can crash into.

Yepper — awesome in one word really. Expensive, not great on gas, performance and looks to die for. What more to say? I guess a 3 rotor n/a is going to be the best thing you could possibly add, but other than that its great the way the car came from the factory.

Pros: looks, handling, easy to upgrade,

Cons: expensive to repair

My Rx-7 — Love how it looks, and how eager it is to go sideways! with the fairly inexpensive mods she now has she's a valve and cylinder free pocket rocket! downsides .... it does tend to squeak and rattle a little now and the standard seats (now upgraded) are awful! overall though an absolute classic.

Pros: Power, looks, reliability

Cons: original interior
