It is a 1993, so its not going to be perfect. The tires are bad, which the dealer was honest about. It pulls to the right, so I am going to have an alignment done. But, once I get new tires on it I think its going to be worth what I spent on it. So far we like it.Nov 26, 2020

It accelerates alright for a 20 year old truck, but it won't stop on a dime. It functions well, everything works on it like it's supposed to. If it weren't for the rust, it would be a great looking truck, but it's still not bad looking. I average about 11-13 mpg, so it's usually a weekly trip to the gas station.Apr 14, 2013

This truck does pretty good in mud I got 13MPG driving it from
Kansas to Denver and it really likes the mountain air just filled up
the othe day and got 15MPG ive got alterain tires on it and they go

had to have the engine replaced due to a cracked block caused by the water in it freezing and expanding. put one in ti out of a 95 tahoe. rocker bolts kept backing out so had to put the old heads on it, had trouble getting the timing right. motor still runs a little weak, and trans loses fluid likes its the coolest thing in the world. no cats running into a glasspack that dumps under the cab. just a project thats far from completeApr 19, 2012

Bought this as my winter beater and I couldnt believe how much I fell in love with this truck. It was amazing, had awesome power and the different exhaust I put on it sounded awesome. Took it through many 3 foot high snow drifts and the bloody thing never got stuck. Parts.....ha...wow, you can easily afford to keep this thing on the road and they were so easy to replace, great truck to work on.Mar 08, 2012

I bought the truck used, and it seems to be okay, so far. It gets fairly good gas mileage considering it's a V-6 pushing a fairly big body. I have only replaced the windshield wipers, changed the oil and filter, and fuel filter,and battery since purchasing it and tuning it up, it was running pretty bad before I done this. i tink this truck is good for a first time vehicale owner they are cheap and a easy to maintain. you can buy parts real cheap just make sure you buy alot of parts bulk is better. plus here in canada having a 4wd drive vehicale is a must.Nov 20, 2011

I've owned this Silverado since Dec 1998. I bought it for work initially, but now it's 'semi-retired' (I now use a 2003 Impala LS (3.8L) as my everyday cummuter). My wife says I'm a horder when it comes to my truck - she just doesn't see the light. :-) I bought the truck with 177,000 km and it now has 364,700 (as of Nov 22, 2011). A good 75% of that mileage is highway. Its been very reliable and dependable for the most part, just seemed to have gone through front brakes and u-joints more frequently than normal (maybe it's just me - ?). Its reasonably good on fuel on the highway, but heavy in the City. The body on it is still in very good shape aside from the usual rust spot on the right rear fender above the exhaust pipe (damn these Canadian winters). May 05, 2011

Its a great truck. 4WD works great. It has a lot of nice features like a push bumper with off-road lights, clearance lights in the front an back. a Good gull wing tool box with dual CB whips. and great mud tires A little rust, and minor dents and scratches. Yet the engine was overhauled so it has little miles on the engine, it has a new frame, and everything is really solid, its just old. A good radio with Aux ports. A cobra Cb radio. Camo interior, just the seat is ripped and since it is a single cab it makes for troubles when carrying things that need to be inside the cab. Jan 07, 2011

It is perfect for rally car driving, it is slow to brake but I believe that is due to a lack of maintenance on my part. The interior is fine, comfortable and durable. The exterior is rusty and faded but its held up. Also very cheap to fix, the performance is grand. The only downside is gas, its terrible $75 to fill it up and in about 100 miles you'll need more. Can't get much better than this. Parts for these older body-style Chevy's are easy to come by and fixing them usually isn't much of a hassle. This truck has hauled and towed everything under the sun BEFORE the motor and tranny swap without a problem. Always fun trucks to drive and not much to be concerned about safety wise, anything besides a semi hits this and they're gonna be feelin' it. Great performance on gravel, dirt, and in mud. Plenty of room in the bed for hauling wood or three-wheelers. Gas mileage is the only thing left to be desired, luckily it's a stick shift.Jun 06, 2010

1993 Chevy 1500 short stepside box with custom taillights, a custom back bumper, nice sound system. I raced it a couple of times. the spedometer went to 85mph but i was told i was doing 130mph by a kid i was racing. i no longer have it because i totaled it in december of 09 when i hit a patch of ice and then did a 180 degree spin into a tree.Apr 22, 2010

It's a good truck, The cab corners are rotting on it because I live around salt and drive on salted roads. The paint is coming off in big patches and the breaks are making a smell like the pads are sticking a little. This truck is safe to drive, not very aerodynamic at all but the more wieght you have in the back the better it handles and rides. This truck is meant to work and haul and it has been handy when finding free stuff on the side of the road and hauling junk and moving people. I like my truck but wish I had a club cab! With a car seat in between it is really cramped in the cab! Not a good family vehicle. I love going off road in it though. I would never buy another truck without 4wd again!Nov 02, 2009

Gets the job done. Has enough power for most tasks, and is fun to drive, but still gets good gas mileage. Can really get moving if you step on it, yet I have gotten 17 miles per gallon with it on the highway. Extended cab is nice for hauling extra people. Very reliable and always runs good. Always starts even when it's 20-30 below zero. 4 wheel drive works well, just takes a minute or two to engage. Parts are easy and affordable to buy. I am sure this truck will easily last another 10-20 years.May 18, 2009

As far as build quality goes it is top of the line for what i put it through, besides just routine maint it is awsome. Performance wise, i have put 2.72 gears in the rear end and i get about 25 miles to the gallon on the highway, yes out of a 350 with a cam.Apr 10, 2009

The accleration is awesome, and it has good handling. The interior is in pretty good condition, the exterior has some rust, but it ain't too bad. The gas mileage is ok, but I wouldn't mind if it was better. The cab has a good amount of room, but it ain't the greatest for long trips.Oct 22, 2008
