Super Fun. Like A Crotch Rocket With Air Bags! — overall i love this thing. old school stand up wind sheild, top hides behind the seat, lines remind me of an Alfa romeo. front shimmies on hard exceleration but mainly in lower gears. only big complaint, lack of online inforrmation. this is my second one and its just as fun to drive as i remember. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: runs good with a little sinus trouble untill it warms, got for only $1'000.00 Cons: boost, spedo, and fuel guage dont work. top doesn't leak. (not with all that tape on it) ![]() Looking for a Used Capri in your area?CarGurus has 14 nationwide Capri listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |

I Love It! — I just love driving it with the top down. It handles like a go cart, accelerates quickly except on the steepest hills (remember I've got the automatic) and returns 24mpg while I'm driving around the Garden State Parkway at 75-85 mpg. I've owned a Fiat Spider, a couple Lebaron convertibles, and a Mercedes 380SL. The SL is built like a tank, but I enjoy driving the Capri more. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: I bought this car used not expecting much but quickly fell in love with it. Nice, predictable handling, decent performance even with the automatic and Mazda reliability. If you're a convertible guy or gal you'll enjoy the heck out of this car. Get the removable hardtop and it's 100% winter ready. This is the unknown bargain of the convertible world.
Cons:
Every rear plastic window eventually splits. They all leak in heavy rain, even with the hardtop. You need to go to the internet to get capri-only trim parts. (roosport.com) The leather seats are rare, but way nicer than the cloth ones. They also can rust if neglected. Try o get a rust-free one & keep it that way. |
