Nice Looking Car, But High Maintainance Engine — Nice design (Mazda was trying to copy the Porsche 944 with this model style), good handling, decent performer with the 160 HP Wankel / Rotary engine. Hatchback provided decent trunk space, well laid out interior (no glitzy electronic nonsense). Reliable, if maintained properly. Hard to maintain rotary engine which gobbles up oil and needs a mechanic well versed in the Wankel engine to keep it running at its peak. No airbags, no ABS, no traction/stability control. side mirrors don't fold (someone smacks into them = automatic replacement). So-so factory paint...lots of fading and lots of cracking on the red spoiler (it was rubber, I think)

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Nice design (Mazda was trying to copy the Porsche 944 with this model style), good handling, decent performer with the 160 HP Wankel / Rotary engine. Hatchback provided decent trunk space, well laid out interior (no glitzy electronic nonsense).  Reliable, if maintained properly.

Cons: Hard to maintain rotary engine which gobbles up oil and needs a mechanic well versed in the Wankel engine to keep it running at its peak.  No airbags, no ABS, no traction/stability control.  side mirrors don't fold (someone smacks into them = automatic replacement).  So-so factory paint...lots of fading and lots of cracking on the red spoiler (it was rubber, I think)

Rx7 20b Race Car — My race car converted to a triple rotor engine with in excess of 700bhp. Single turbo setup using a turbonetics T61. Bespoke engine conversion using a cosmo 20b engine rebuilt by my company Triple B Motorsport. Currently in drift spec with a heavily modified steering setup.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: the power and noise

Cons: the fuel it uses

Its Rotary Powered. — Not enough power, burns oil, bad on gas, but chassis and handling are superb. Rotary powered. All the power comes at the top end. The engine and transmission are well suited. It runs smoothly all the way to eight thousand rpm.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Its rotary powered.

Cons: Its rotary powered.

I Would Definitely Consider Buying Another — I thoroughly enjoyed owning this car, despite having to put a second rotary engine in it. It was really quick, light, and had perfect weight balance. It revved to the moon, and with the added Racing Beat header and HKS cat delete exhaust, it sounded bad ass. That setup caused 3ft flames to shoot out of the tailpipes on hard up-shifts! I ended up selling it because it was getting wore out, the chassis started creaking and stuff when pushing it in corners.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Super fun, fast, and unique.

Cons: new rotary engines run around $4k.

I Would Totally Buy Another One — these cars have amazing cornering. its a lil bit expensive on gas and only gets around 18 miles to the gallon, but it is totally awesome when you can take a cloverleaf corner at 50+ mph and the tires dont squawk.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: amazing handling

Cons: pricey repairs, not alot of professional shops other than dealers

Definitely Have To Like The Car For Yourself To Be Interested. — I have to rebuild the engine and clean up the body...she has to be torn apart fix a few dents and paint her, the only other girl before her is Katelyn. It is a really expensive car as far as upkeep and everything but in the end it is completely worth it.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It has alot of speed for such small horsepower and excellent handling.

Cons: Not the greatest for road trips.

Great Sportscar. Immortal Looks But Dated Performance. — Beautiful car, great wankel rotary engine. RWD fun. Loves to drink fuel. Small interior, but focused -- it's a sportscar. Suspension is pretty stiff as well, so having it as a daily driviner may turn out to be a pain. Loved it.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The great rotary engine, looks, RWD.

Cons: MPG's, stiff ride and compact interior.

Ive Owned 6. Love Them All. — Great Handling car. Easy to make loads of power. Different from everything else on the road. Can be driven year around. Smooth power band. Great for inspiring drivers. This thing is a blast to drive. Great balance of power and handling.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Over 1G Skid pad

Cons: Maintenence

Most Entertaining Vehicle I've Ever Owned. — Classic, simple design, fast as all hell and nothing beats the sound of a rotary engine. Make sure you're ready to do your research and get your hands dirty. Shops that are skilled in dealing with these engines are hard to find, and most of the time you're just better off doing most of the work yourself. It's worth it.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: An incredible and unique car.

Cons: Maintenance

Fc3s Rx-7 — The rotary engine is by far the most abusable engine ever made as long as you maintain it. The rev-happy 13b is a spirited drive and capable of serious horsepower when ported and properly tuned. The sleek and sexy body style of the 2nd generation FC3S has limitless design potential and a healthy array of after market body kits and accessories. Hands down one of the greatest cars ever to reach the shores of USA from Nippon.

Pros: Great car, fun to drive, and beautiful to behold.

Cons: Requires maintanence beyond the level of average mechanic, not the most fuel efficient, and burns insane amounts of oil.
