Good Car, Fairly Dependable. — Performance: good acceleration, good braking, great handling Build quality: stays together as long as you don't get near other drivers (hehe) Appearance: outside- ok, when all pannels are brand new inside-kinda ugly--full of rivets, zip ties, and duct tape Cost: fairly cheap Fun factor: totally awesome!!!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It's a race car

Cons: It's fast, and the driver holds grudges (hehe)

Good For Cross Country, Not So Good For In Town — okay, so this truck is as old as i am...the acceleration sucks, braking squeaks, however, the handing is okay, the truck was gifted to me, so i only pay insurance, its a manual, so its sorta fun to drive i guess....

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun thing to bouce around in

Cons: poor acceleration

Still Reliable After Seventeen Years —

This truck was my first new car purchase in 1991. What I can attest to is the reliability. The clutch was original up to about 2002 or 122,000 miles. The computer was replaced in 2004 and since then no problems. Other than that, I kept it up with regular maintenance. Since I live just off the coast (California), the exterior has taken a beating, showing minimal surface rust and fading. The body wasn't too resilient as there were many dings and scratches. But what the heck! It's a truck, right?! I recently had it painted and added a Herculiner roll-on bedliner. Other than that, the truck remains original but I'll be adding a passenger-side mirror which may have been an option back then. And possibly a rear bumper. In years past, this pickup did have some get-up-and-go for the rather small engine size. Though it lags a bit now. However, it still accompanies me on those rides to the land-fill, the hardware store, and of course the daily drive. And it still makes the occassional drive down south to HRO. If you have a chance to pick one up, I would inquire on the life of the computer and clutch/transmission. Otherwise, these trucks run forever.

Pros: 20-25mpg and 13 gallon tank.

Cons: Steering can get tough - keep the tires well inflated.

Worst Choice Of My Life — I had always wanted a pickup truck, so I traded my Civic to get this. After I got it, things started going wrong with it, and I seemed to always have trouble with it, from the door locks breaking, then the drivers side door handle would not work from the outside. and finally the spark plugs got stuck in the engine and we couldnt get them out..

Pros: Extended cab. CD/MP3 deck, subwoofer

Cons: Just about everything

Decent Little Truck —

I have owned 3 of these for some reason, I don't know why. My first one cost me $500, and the other two were both cost me $750. I mean it's a decent vehicle that gets decent gas mileage. It is one of thee most cheapiest and easiest vehicle to maintain and work on if need be, especially if you swap to a weber carburetor because that will cancel out most the vacume lines giving you less to worry about and making your engine bare and a sinch to work on or tinker with. I rebuilt the motor in all 3 off mine and it was too simple. It's a good vehicle for daily commute and short trips but lacks comfort for any long trips. The truck does lack power, not much passing power, you can do it just leave a little room to get a running start. The extended cab has back seats but it's so small it's not even worth trying to put anyone back there, it's just nice to have for a little extra space in the cab for some groceries or something. Not good for towing anything other then a small motorcycle trailer, don't try to tow anything big or heavy. If you use it in the winter in snow make sure you have some weight in the back and some good snow tires, this truck isn't really that great in the snow. Theres nothing really good about it other then being simple and for a little truck theres nothing really bad about it.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Cheap and easy to maintain

Cons: road noise, doesn't look to appealing, lacks power

A Strong, Reliable Little Work Horse — Performance - give it time it will finally get there. Build quality - Better than current new vehicles. Everything still works including A/C. Appearance - Still looks good. Never kept inside but paint still glossy. Interior starting to deteriorate (door panels cracking) otherwise still good. Cost of Ownership - Less than $600 in last 10yrs. Timing belt, set of tires, 2 batteries and rebuild of clutch slave cylinder. Just past annual safety check in Aug. Good for another year. Will need original exhaust system replaced in next few months. Fun factor - Not fun but reliable and practical. Needs power steering.

Pros: Can't kill it.

Cons: No power steering
