The base level came well equipped, with a 3.0-liter, 158-horsepower four-cylinder engine. The S model came with a sport-tuned suspension, antilock brakes, and a 3.0-liter, 190-horsepower V6. Fuel economy for the base model was 19/23, and for the V6 it was 18/22.
Drivers like the 1991 Mazda 929, because it is comfortable and roomy, with a large trunk and spacious back seat. However, in the event it needs repair, owners say it can be expensive. Many drivers also wish the 1991 929 had cupholders.
