Although rating average in the compact car segment, owners seem to love their Dodge Colt's reliability and ease of use in city driving, especially when it comes to parallel parking in tight spots. Along with great fuel economy (25 city/29 highway), the Dodge Colt delivers a perky ride with decent cargo-hauling capacity.
For 1991, the Dodge Colt got rid of the station wagon and the GT trim, leaving only the base and GL hatchbacks. The standard 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine is now rated at 92-horsepower, up 11-hp from the previous year, to give the car a little more pep around town. This would be the last year for the Dodge Colt's 4-door Vista Wagon, which held a 2.0-liter, 96-horsepower engine.
Although not winning any beauty pageants, the Dodge Colt is both affordable, dependable, and reasonably roomy, according to its biggest fans.
