Like The Style And Feel Of The Old Square Body 5 Speeds, Not Much Power In The Little V6. — Not much room when changing motor, decently cheap parts and a good aftermarket selection. Gets good gas mileage and cant beat it for the prices you can usually get them for in a mid size truck around here. Id recommend it as a beginner truck or a truck someone was wanting to mod with a different engine, light weight and could support a v8 motor for a lot of fun with the time and effort.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good gas mileage, pretty comfortable leather seats

Cons: Put a motor in a week after buying, not much room under hood to work on it.

A Junk, Beater Truck, That Can Be Had Cheap. And Maintained For Nearly Nothing. Simple To Work On — Writing this review years later. It was a 91 Short Bed, Reg Cab, S-10. 5-Spd Manual, with Manual Shift Transfercase. TBI 4.3 V6 with what i thought was a T5 trans. Got it super cheap at a junkyard, Used it as a Beater/Woods Truck for a year. It held up well. Stuffed a set of 31x10.5 Dunlop Radial Rover A/T's on it, and drove it. rust killed it off. Drivers door hinge rotted out bad. So the door was tacked and welded Closed. Then the heater core started dying. and soon after that it was electrical nightmares. Drove it to the local U pull it, and rid my hands of it. In the woods, it was GREAT. tho i prefer the Blazer over the S-10 Pickup in the woods, as theres a little more weight over the rear axle, even when only in 2wd. It had 3.08's and a G80 I believe. a cheap, easy to fix, and not too ugly pickup.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: Power, Size, Traction.

Cons: cheap metal, non undercoated from factory.

Sweet !!! — A real eye catcher. Bought this on a as is lot fresh off the auction truck. It has a few miles but it has been very well cared for. I am the 2nd owner & did the custom work.Body , glass was all in 100 % condition when I purchased.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Love this truck rides & drives like a dream plus it is spotless. Lots of lookers at the local cruises, I get inquiries to purchase on a regular basis, get's 20 mpg 4.3 V-6

Cons: rides like a dream but it's a stiff bumpy dream,,

Pros: Great on gas "4 Cyl"

    Cons: Rusted to the frame

Not A Bad Beater — wasn't a bad truck, its pretty good for a cheap beater, and fun to drive if your kinda reckless, but it doesn't have a lot of power. also very cheap to maintain. i wasn't a big fan of the boxy style but again not bad

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I like that basically everything was really cheap on the truck and able to get easy. something broke pay 20 bucks and about an hour of your time

Cons: I really didn't like that it didn't have a lot of power, i got it up to 90 mph a couple times but it really didn't like it mainly cause it was red lining

Like The Battery Ad, Just Keeps Running! — The reliability: sits 6 months out of a year and dig out of 6 ft. of snow and starts right up! The fact that it is manual and 2 wheel drive I have hesitation on driving in the winter, but it has never failed me. I could ask for better mileage than the average 18mpg that I get? Hardly any maintenance besides the regular oil changes, brakes.

Pros: Always reliable, go back to it whenever a car fails me.

Cons: Not 4wd & manual so I am unsure in winter months, has always gotten me through though

I Would Love To Restore It To New, Unmodified Original Condition. — I tle-body fuel injection systemdont like the drum rear brakes;but, it stops just fine. the suspention and steering geometry make this little beast handle exceptionally well;the combo of the 2.8 v6, 5speed trans and throttle-body fuel injection system makes it a fast, fun to drive machine. The entire package is like some kind of happy accident; GM really got it right on this little machine I have oiwned much nicer vehicles, but none that I have loved or respected more. This little thing just seems to have no limits.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: because I love to drive it!

Cons: because I will steal it from you.

Good Trucks To Own If You Pick Em Up Cheap And Put A Little Tlc In Em — I picked this truck up and went completely through the engine. My mpg is great now! Great fishing truck or in town use. The gear only timing in the 2.5l is very dependable you end up with the power of a 2.8 but with better mpg.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: good fuel economy and stability.

Cons: sometimes the wiring insulators dry up and need replacing.
