The 1990 929, Mazda's full-sized sedan, saw a number of important changes for the model year. The sporty S model was introduced, featuring a more powerful engine and a sportier suspension. Overall, the 929 got a restyled grille and bumpers and two-tones paint.

The 1990 Mazda 929 comes in two trims. The base level came well equipped, with a 3.0-liter, 158 horsepower four cylinder engine. The S model came with sport-tuned suspension, anti-lock breaks, and a 3.0-liter 190 horsepower V6. Fuel economy for the base model was 19/23, and for the V6 it was 18/22.

Drivers like the 1990 929 because it is roomy and comfortable, and say the V6 is especially enjoyable to drive. Some owners have had problems with the leather seats cracking, and many say that when the car needs repair, parts can be very expensive.

I rather like this 929 honestly, it's a great first car, it's been with me for a little over a year and the parts are just starting to go, not bad for 20 years i'd say. It's really great on the highway and in town, it has a great ride and feel to it. I would probably only change 1 thing about this car and that would be the leather seats they are just to cold in the winter. I'm a real fan of the japanese cars, which is why i bought this car, I love the rwd, 2.6L V6.Nov 30, 2010

NEVER BUY ONE electronic parts go bad quickly, acceleration is left to be desired, and to make things worse, the looks is HORRIABLE unless you like stuff looking like it comes out of a cracker jack box. Do you like stuff like that?Aug 05, 2009

The one and only thing you need to know about the 1990 mazda 929 S model is that is has a DOHC V6 and it is RWD all day long. The car is a blast to drive and I have BIG plans for it. Four words MAZDA 929 DRIFT SEDANSep 09, 2008
