Time Tested, Toyota Durablity. — I really like this truck. Toyota did a great job building the "can't kill" (via Top Gear) vehicle. The space is unbelievable and it's four wheel drive is epic in the mud or snow covered ski areas. Nearly 280K miles and still runs like new!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very low maintenance. Easy to work on my self. Styling still holds up well.

Cons: Rough ride. Not enough power to get through most places here in Pacific Northwest.

Rock Solid Truck — this rig was sweet. was the best 4x4 i ever owned, drove. even the little tiny 4cyl 22re powerplant was good. only found one hill it wouldnt do. i miss my truck and am looking for a new one even as we speak.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: lots of room, cheap on gas, great off road

Cons: weak power plant

Favorite Truck Ever — i loved my 89 4runner it was my favorite vehicle yet the removable top was a blast. this truck was tough as nails and the only part that ever broke offroad was the rear bumper. although fairly gutless on the highway i could get close to 29 mpg canadian. the truck did burn its share of oil and the 2 doors were a little iinconvient but it was awesome regret selling

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: good offroad, good gas mileage, convertible, reliable

Cons: 2door, a little gutless

This truck is so much fun.Ive got 33 swampers on it and go muddin all the time. The 22re is a great motor its a 4 banger so its great on gas.The truck only weighs about 3500 pounds so its perfect for playin in the mud or bush. The removable top makes this truck sexy as can be by being able to go topless. She s seats 5 comfortable and 7 if your playin.i will have this truck till i die i just LOVE it!!!!!!!The list goes on and on!!!!

Cons: nothing

1989 Toyota 4runner — I love this truck! It is pushing 300,000 miles and is still as stout as an OX! This truck is well put together. It has never really had any major repairs needed. I had the alt rebuilt and had to put a new clutch master cyl. Both came after 250,000 miles. It is great on a sunny day to take the top off and just ride!

Pros: Its a Toyota. Need I say more?

Cons: None worth talking about

Rock Solid — If you are looking for a 4x4 that won't let you down in the bush or on the trails look no ferther. I have drivin this thing harder than any truck should be driven and it has always asked for more. it is by no means a speed demon but as soon as you lock in the hubs and put it in 4x4 its a monster that not much can stop.

Pros: amazing 4x4 capibilitys

Cons: not much power stock

Is An Amazing Car To Drive And Is Great At 4wd — Like: Performance, Handling, Appearance, Fun to Drive, Great at 4WD, Well maintained, Quite Loud for a 4 Cylinder, Awesome Speakers,Colour, Hieght Clearance, Is a Toyota, is a Great Starter Car. Dislike: Little Rough, Not very fast, Towing capasity not very high, Doesn't Beat the Landcruiser though.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: comfortable and good looking

Cons: No reason not to buy this car
