What a classic. There is talk of bringing this ride back to the 21st century. Love to have a new one, but the 89 is still an exceptional ride.

Cool Character, Total Utility — My last car was a Mercedes GL for which I paid 80k dollars. This is way, way better. Nuff' said but this was the end of the era when style was more than just being acceptable to urban magazine writers. The car has character to accompany its total usefulness. Simple, tough, reliable and cool is what it is.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I've been driving a fully restored Waggy daily for 2 years.  I don't know where to start with the good news - it's just the perfect vehicle for a short trip to work each day and weekend fun.  With the right tires, suspension, a new 360 Jasper crate engine, new interior and all the other details refreshed, it's really great.  It's quiet, refined, gentlemanly and gets constant looks of appreciation and comments.  I've had no issues inherent to the model.

Cons: Having to answer questions about my cool ride every time I stop for gas.

Great Weekend - Short Trip Vehicle — With its classic looks, if you can find a good one, you will have many people stopping you to talk about the vehicle and reminiscing about there own past experiences with the Grand Wagoneer. It is a perfect vehicle to take on a fishing trip with your Grand Father, Dad or Brother and has a magical way of add to the experience.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Classic looks, I've had the GW for only a few weeks but already notice people taking an interest in this oldie.

Cons: Terrible on gas mileage and no power, replacement parts are getting hard to come by.

2nd Wagoneer — This was wagon number 2. I bought this in 2007 but it didnt have the wood on the outside like the first one and it had waterpump problems. but it was a good commuter from my job to San Leandro. had to feel it up with water every mornin and after work. didnt have the space or money to really work on it. So it had to go.

Classic Giant! — I bought mine off my dad who owned it for the past 8 years. It has 123,000 original miles on it, and the vehicle is basically ALL original. I wasn't too thrilled about owning a vehicle that wasn't fuel injected, but it's fairly easy to work on (a plus) and cheaper to repair than a fuel-injected car. It's really roomy and drives strong in all weather. I will enjoy....

Pros: built well, runs forever, cheap to repair and easy to work on (for the most part)

Cons: gas mileage, ride over bumps

Escalade Of The Eighties — I love this Jeep. Been driving it for 2 yrs, hate filling it w/gas but the thing pulls like a train and rides like a champ.

Pros: Classic styling and loaded w/options, pvr everthing, including keyless entry,

    Cons: none

My First Car. — As my first truck, it had enhanced my mechanic skills because I did most of the work myself.

Best Rock Crawler In The World — I bought it used a month ago for 1700. It has just over a hundred thousand original miles on the 360 engine. I've had several four bys, including an older Land Rover, but this thing goes anywhere and everywhere I could want to go. The only thing I didn't like were the small tires; I've put a small lift in order to save the wheel wells, and I'm putting on some 255/70s.

This car is an all time classic. The value will continue to grow over the next 10 years as they are no longer in production (rumors of new on soon). Mine gets looks where ever I drive it. All round American Icon
