4 Banger Turboed — - Acceleration is good for this turbocharged 4 banger - Braking is good enough - handles well because it's light and front wheel drive Never needs repairs Appearance isn't the greatest Cheap on gas Overall it is a fun little car to drive on or offroad Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Turbo Cons: Appearence ![]() Looking for a Used Colt in your area?CarGurus has 1 nationwide Colt listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |

Don't Buy A Mitsubishi! — When these things run, they run very well, but when they don't, look out! I paid for this car over again not once but twice! Had to get a new motor when the original seized. Things went well for a couple of years then it mysteriously would keep stalling then flooding. I finally had to get rid of it when I couldn't find anyone to figure out the problem with it! Too bad, because it was a cute little car. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Good fuel economy, good power if it's a manual transmission Cons: Nobody out there works on these things! |

I Love This Car. — I have a 1989 Dodge Colt 200 that has no rust, no dents, it has 93,000 kms on it. Last year it got new wheel bearings, and this year I replaced the cv joints. It still looks like a brand new car and is great on gas.It even has the original stereo in it. However, only problem I find is if its really muddy out or slushy is I have to constantly pull over and clean the headlights at night cause they are so low to the ground spray from other vehicles turns them black. Otherwise, this is the most awesome car I have ever owned. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: gas mileage, handling, everything.... Cons: none |

Awesome Wagon: Perfect First Car And I'm Keeping It Forever. — I wish I had a turbo charger for the 1.5 liter, tinted windows, and cruise control. I'm going to tint the windows, add an after-market cruise control, and try putting a simple 12v box fan inline (on the air intake) and see if that helps with the slow acceleration from a stop sign. I use my wagon for going to and from auctions, estate sales, and Menards (a lumber yard type of store in Michigan and the Midwest). Can't wait to paint it so that it looks as good as it performs. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)
Pros:
Just about everything about it is a pro. Cons: No cruise control. Sluggish 1.5 liter engine from a stop and going up hills but can be overcome by flooring the gas pedal. No passenger side mirror on the door (had to put one on it). |
