Weekend Tank...... — Very good cheap aftermarket parts......most work can be done by an average tool handy person........saves you 80 dollars an hour on labor......if left stock, it will look great as a clean near vintage preSUV truck. NOT......NOT....an everyday driver if you are worried about gas. TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION!!!!.....with no car payment....multiple companies manufacturing high end aftermarket parts....ease of repair....it STILL beats a brand new SUV with the average price of 50gand. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Soooooo much power...... great space.......lots of aftermarket parts Cons: drinks more gas than most SUVs |

Have Had For 22 Years Great Truck — this has been a great truck to see the USA in from California to Florida we took the kids camping and had a blast it has carried boy scouts and Presidential candidates and with only 117,000 miles it is ready for many more years of service :) Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: a great truck to have great ride Cons: My wife will not drive she says to big |

Best Truck/car I Have Ever Owned — I have had many trucks, none as good as this one! It gets 26 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in town. I have hauled my in-laws travel trailer; approx. 7500 lbs. and I got 16 mpg on the freeway! I can pass anyone while towing and beat any stock truck for mpg! I have made no mods yet, but plan on a Banks programmer and Monster exhaust in the future. I had an '03 with the Hemi, it was weak in comparison. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) Pros: Power, fuel mileage, towing capacity Cons: need running boards, or nerf bars |

Heavy Duty Work Horse — My dad drove his 'burban 2500 4x4 through hell and back, abused the crap outa' it with no oil changes and tune-ups ONLY when the engine stalled, etc. But now that he gave it to me, we gave her some TLC and chopped the muffler and cat, and boy - this old workhorse is a beast! I took off the sidesteps and am saving for some Mud Rovers. Installed new steering box, tranny rebuild and motor rebuild. This truck is like a whole new suburban. Oh, yeah, and I totaled a car and a tree. On accident. No damage to the suburban but a scratch and a dent. Pros: The 2500 is built strong and solid. 4x4 comes in handy. Crushes every puny new plastic bumper in its wake. Cons: Gas mileage, hard to drive in traffic due to some blind spots. |

With-in The First Month It Was Hard At. — This is a new peice of equiptment for me. I have a family and need to hall. By week 3 I already towed a flooded car, and I loaded a full size couch in and was able to close the gate. The power-window motors were slow for my likeing, but they worked. The rest of the interior was great except for the headliner that had fallen. Outside was decent for an '89. It had a good bit of rust but not nearly as bad as I've seen. I think the use of the solid running boards protected the rocker panels a good bit. For the whole bottom to be redone at the shop estimates are running $900. I also need to replace all of the dry-rotted weather stripping at the windows. Under the hood, everything seems good, except for a leak that cost $250 to fix in the oil cooler hose (that was a garage rip-off. The new part, installed at the dealer would have cost less). The cooler mount failed letting the cooler fall to the bumper where the engine vibration caused a rub-through of the aluminum fitting. There is some rust on the exhaust, which will disappear when I put some noise in the exhaust. The alternator was already replaced. Overall I love my new beast Owner for 0 years, 2 months Miles Driven per Year:13,000 Pros: fold flat second row, privacy windows, space Cons: The tailgate set-up>have to turn on the truck to get the window down; The driver's area> things like the radio and heater could have been moved towards the passenger. Other than that> I want the 4wheel drive |

The Most Reliable And Useful Car Ever Built — I've had this car since before I was born. I've witnessed almost half a million miles get put on it, and it's still alive. It has so many uses, and I love it so much that I never want to get rid of it. Pros: Storage space, comfort, leg room, confidence, powerful engine, utility. Cons: Poor gas mileage, hard to park (this particular car has some other problems associated with having 477,000 miles on it as well) |
