1988 Dakota, My Best Purchase — i have this truck since 1988, i have to change the pick-up coil every 90000km the engine is original, never been overhaul, the 5 speeds transmission was change at 160000km, the differential was change at 15000km under the warranty afeter a few burnout, and again at 250000km, the yoke bolt came loose and it destroyed the gears inside, but overall i had my best years in that truck and i plan to rebuild it completely to bring it back like it was the day i bought it new. the performance was ok in first and second gear, but on the third fourth and fifth gear, it was poor, braking and handling was awsome with the heavy duty suspension and 15 inchs eagle gt tires, it took 15 years before the first rust hole on the body, and i never put any antirust on it it was a blast to drive on curvy road, and confortable ond bumpy road

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: my first new vehicule and never regret the purchase

Cons: nothing

Good Ol' Truck That Never Dies — Performance of the truck is overall good it could use restoring and i plan on doing that when i get the money for it, Appearance of the truck is sortof bad the interior needs work, and the exterior needs some dent pulled out, Gas mileage is not to bad problly 15 mpg, it got lots of mileage on the engine about 169,130.

Pros: its a truck

Cons: gas mileage

Will Not Trade Or Sell It — the only thing i don't like about this truck is the fact that it is an automatic. other than that the truck is great. it has a stock 5 in lift sitting on thirty ones. this truck hopefully will have a bigger lift and be sitting on at least 37 by 12.5 inch tires when i get back from basic.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: having fun and hunting

Cons: nothing

My Truck — New brake pads. Huge rust spots. Front and rear bumpers falling off. Eleven miles to the gallon. Twenty two gallon tank makes that a little better. Transmission going out. Basically it is a horrible truck that runs crappy. Not forgetting to mention the paint job four colors of crap... brown brown and brown... and rust.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: New brakes. Long bed.

Cons: Transmission failing.

1988 Dodge Dakota Sport — My Dakota is a great every day driver- It just has a lil 3.9 V6, black, single cab, short box, Auto. with bucket seats. Its no hot rod, but i like it and it gets the job done. Great lil truck.

Pros: Great for little jobs here and there. Gets me around

Cons: Could use a lil more power, but its a v6 what do you expect? lol

says:
This truck is on of my babies it has 143k on it now and can be a little rough but runs good and never gets stuck i use it around the farm and during the winter makes one hell of a mud truck too, replacing the transfer case was easy enough for me to do it in my own driveway with basic hand tools and no matter the abuse it always finds a way to keep running
