The Toyota Cressida was largely unchanged for 1986. It had just been redesigned the year before, getting an updated body and many new amenities.

The 1986 Toyota Cressida came as a wagon or a sedan. he engine was a 2.8-liter, 156-horsepower 6 cylinder, and it came standard with an automatic transmission. A five-speed manual was available as an option. The Cressida was well-equipped, coming with a generous amount of standard features. Fuel economy was about 19/24.

Drivers are very enthusiastic about the 1986 Toyota Cressida, saying that the rear wheel drive makes it fun to drive, it offers a very smooth and comfortable ride, and with proper care should last for a very long time. My father owned a 1986 Toyota cressida and it was the greatest car I have ever driven. (even 25 yrs later) The ride was smooth as a baby's butt and the sound system was incredible for it's day. Everything about it was perfect- the ride- the seating (soo comfortable !) and it never broke down. My only regret is entering the military and not taking it with me ! This is the greatest car ever !
