Yacht!!! — I love this car and the looks of it. It's smooth and floats down the road. I love that Lincoln decided to outfit the Collector's Series with an umbrella, leather bound tool kit, and leather owners manual. Cool! No noises at all with the car. I think it was quite advanced for the 70's considering the stereo/8 track, foot radio station selector, and all the power accessories. I'm a sucker for big luxury rides. But this big boat is not for everyone.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Beautiful car. Nothing like the 70's in my eyes.

Cons: Just the size. Hard to find any like this without a ding or dent. This one has none. It's a boat and stays covered and garaged mostly.

The Epitome Of Late 70's Largesse — This is a 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car Williamsburg Edition. We got it off Ebay in 2006. Had 44,000 original miles. Flawless red leather interior, sunroof, huge trunk, will take 6 people to Ponca City or Pawhuska in great comfort.

Pros: Classic styling, tank-like safety.

Cons: 13 miles per gallon.

1979 Lincoln Continental Review
Quality luxury car. Quintessential luxury ride, ie. very smooth, ease of drivability, etc. Steering has more feel for the road. Engine power is choked down by the government regulations of the time. Acceleration suffers.

"Pre-1973-74 American luxury cars dont suffer from regulations to the degree that later models do. Very similar ride quality in both. Lincoln was easier to parallel-park."
