1977 Pontiac Astre Review
Low2Rider says:
I owned this vehicle back in the 80s. When I sold it the speedometer had over 250,000 miles. This had the Iron Duke engine and ran like a top. It came with an auto trans but I installed a 4 speed manual. 25 mpg was easy to obtain with this package. I still miss this car.

Looks/Style Ranked 2009 Chevrolet HHR worse.
"The styling back in the late 70s was mostly dumpy. Big ugly bumpers, oversized everything. The Astre just seems to correct the uglys of the era."
Would Buy Ranked 2009 Chevrolet HHR better.
"Biggest bang for the buck. 30 mpg and 260 hp in one package is hard to beat."

"the Duke" Rolls On! — There is very little to dislike about this car. It runs great, and gets 32 MPG. The Iron Duke engine is holding up real well, and after 37 years on the road does not burn any oil. I expect to own this car for the rest of my life.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great gas mileage

Cons: Some parts are difficult to find
