Good acceleration for a old engine design, Great on fuel consumption and although had bad press in the pre-production models for handling, modified for the release, for a mass produced car manufactured during the British motorings worst years with strikes halting production on a regular base, tey were a car for the masses and sold almost 2 million units during their run from 1971 thru to 1980 when replaced by the morris ital. cost of ownership most parts are still available with the exception of some body panels and trim but overall cheap to run and maintain. Fun Fctor.. Hell yea bring back fond memories of my youth!! a drivers car if ever there was oneFeb 12, 2012

this car was out of production for some time but it also meant it was exempt from the more stringent mot tests. It was fast in a straight line but cornered like a prgnant cow. Rear wheel drive meant fun. 15mpg due to blown cylinder and 300mpg of oil. Brakes weren't brilliant gear box was knackered. Couldn't change down into second.Sep 17, 2008
