Almost Unique In Australia — We love its style. Signal Red, white roof, chrome wheels. Great for cruising. Impractible as a daily driver, but come the weekends Fun to drive? Yes. It's no sports car, but we enjoy showing it off. It suprises a few youngsters with straight line speed. It's cramped, the AC doesn't work, the brakes are horrible, the handling, appalling. That's not what it's about for us. In a world of boring cars (toyota excepted- they're boring appliances) it makes an refreshing change.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Styling. Gets plenty of looks & positive comments. They're rare here in Australia.
    Good performance too.

Cons: Evil handling. Under braked ( 4 wheel drums) tiny boot (trunk) space for the size of the car. Fuel ecomomy. And the steering wheel is on  the wrong side! But we don't care!!!

The Car Has Been In My Family Since It Was Brand New...... — Its a 4 door coupe that has great acceleration... Its black with collector plates with 98,000 miles... with very little rust on the wheel wells... It has a small factory Straight 6 cylinder 292 engine... it has dual exhaust with original Chevrolet dog bowl hubcaps...

Pros: its burns rubber with little ease... And purrs like a tiger...

Cons: the interior is terrible and needs to be re-done

69 Custom Skylark — its old and hasnt had any tlc for years but im working on it and love it. you gotta love the double bench seats and spaciousness inside the cabin and under the hood of this car. the original colour is beautiful and love the quwarter windows that automatically roll down. and you cant forget the 350 V8 engine and the over 997000 original miles on it..

Pros: its been in my family for 3 generations

Cons: it looks like crap and runs like crap....for now

Awsome — a great car with a unique body style and a comfortable interior, especially for that production year. Has a great running 455 and handles pretty well for being an older model. Gets about 8-20 miles to the gallon depending on how i drive

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: looks good, moves good, roomy, big motor

    Cons: Gas mileage non existent

    says:
I compared this car with the 442 because I had the GS model. It had a high performance 350 with a big 4bbl Rochester carburetor, functional hood scoops for better aspiration, heavy duty 3 speed auto in the floor, and I *think* positrac. It was a little soft in the front end, but it ran like a scalded dog. It had 150 on the speedo. Factory specs top it out at 120, but on several occasions, I stretched it beyond the last number. It passed everything but a gas station. Back then I was young and immortal.... it cruised at 100+ (to be fair, I eventually cracked a piston). Made Chargers and Mustangs weep.
Cargo Capacity Ranked 1969 Oldsmobile 442 worse.
"The cargo capacity is about the same, but the Buick had a lower trunk entry."
Value Ranked 1969 Oldsmobile 442 worse.
"It was pretty much an equivalent car, but at a better price."
Would Buy Ranked 1969 Oldsmobile 442 worse.
"Well, now it would be a higher collector value; there were far fewer made, and of course, sentimental value but at the time the 442 commanded a premium price."
