  A real happy face car. Both on your self, and others. Fast and comfy, with 150 hp, 6-gear tiptronic, black leather, AC, CD, elctric glass sunroof and more. The only american spec. gecko green Beetle at the big (300 cars) Beetle party in Germany last summer.

This is the first foreign made auto I've ever owned. Although I like driving it, parts are expensive and there isn't much you can do yourself.
Pros:
good gas mileage, good handling

My wife and I owned a 2000 cyber green turbo hatchback before getting this on and loved it. This has been good so far. I like the convertible, but miss the turbo and the 1.8l motor. |

2 door New Beetle, Royal Blue, 2.5L, 6 Speed Automatic with tiptronic, 5 Cylinder in-line, Power Glass sunroof, Monsoon Mp3 System, Built in Subwoofers, 6 Disk changer, Heated leather seats, Anti-Intrusion Beams (designed to absorb and redirect energy upon side impact), Automatic door locks, Heated Washer Nozzles, Integrated Mirrors, Round Shape (gives added strength and rigidity for safety, Third Break light.
Pros:
Mileage (City:23, HWY:31). Maximum torque (manufactured): 170@ 3,750. (Plan to get the chip tuned for better performance). Compression ratio 9.5:1, HP 150 (Manufacturer), Transmission: Digital electronic, with two knock sensors.
Cons:
Only 2 door.

Great car with really no huge issues. The ride is great and handling is tight. It is small but what do you expect...we have had a teenager fall asleep in the back seat and have had packed the trunk full so works for her. No problems with the top. Had one issue with the safety light coming on after hitting a few bumps but got that fixed without any issues. Do have an issue as of now with the heater in the winter months but otherwise is great in the snow and hopefully will be getting that looked at soon. All in all, very happy.

My 2006 VW Beetle Convertible has shut down within 30 seconds twice. Both times auto will not re-start, and I have to be towed. Both times, Autobahn in Fort Worth has replaced the ignition coil. So.....I guess around every 3 months, I get to look forward to standing on the side of the freeway as my car leaves attached to a tow truck. I am very disappointed. |
