1968 Ford Mustang Reviews, Pricing & Specs

This is one of the first cars I ever owned. I had a coupe as a kid and when this one came available I jumped on it. There are not too many people wanting to start a on a project car these days. I knew that this one would be worth every penny. I am also doing as much of the work as possible with my sons. We recently purchased a 67 coupe as well and my older son will work on that one during the day when he is not in school. I can wait to see them finished. Jul 17, 2012

Car get 18mpg in the city and 24 on highway. its a boss 302 with domed pistons going into 289heads with an isky cam/springs and lifters. 4brl 650 carb. lots of horse power. Many repairs have been done, engine rebuild, shock tower, suspension all around, wiring harness. Its a very nice looking car, charcole in colour. with all the vibe from the 60's. Parts are generally expensive for the car. The car is very fun to drive if you like making lots of noise and burning rubber.May 01, 2012

As any review is subjective I'll try to curb my bias. When it comes to performance it will leave you wanting for more in all categories. It is still more exciting to drive than a modern econobox probably due to the sense of raw communication with what is going on around you. It is a semi- reliable vehicle with a slew of aftermarket parts to keep the cost of ownership down. Having a vehicle with a production number just over 4,000 you're almost guaranteed to be the only one around with one.Jan 26, 2012

Well I don't exactly drive it, but I do own one. It is in pieces waiting on a restoration. And when I say pieces I mean my engine is wrapped in shrink wrap still from the machine shop and sitting underneath a desk in my den, my seats are also in the den. But when I did drive it, it was fantastic. When I die, I hope they prop me behind the steering wheel and bury me in the ground in it. A competely original 289 2-barrel car with PS and PB, my Dad and I did the bodywork in the driveway and painted it at his shop on Mavis Road. I drove it from Hell to High Water and back a couple of times, it started in any weather and in spite of having no weight in the back end it performed completely undramatically in the snow. I drove it to school, work and Peterborough on weekends. I put the mandatory Thrush header mufflers when the stock exhaust pretty much fell off it, and aside from a blown power steering hose and a positive wire grounding out against the rad cradle never had a moment of grief with the car.
