2016 Chevy Cruze check engine light/service traction control

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze that has 64K miles on it. In the past week I have
replaced a loose exhaust cover ($100). The issue didn't seem to be resolved
so I brought it back in and they said they needed to replace the alternator
($650). As soon as I brought my car home for the second time, the check
engine light went back on so I immediately brought it back in. They said a
valve cover had to be replaced and GM was having a lot of issues with it so
they were completely out of stock. They put in an order for a new one ($50)
and said they would call when it came in. They said it would be completely
safe to drive. After driving it about 50 miles to and from work, the service
traction control/ABS light came on. I am growing very frustrated because I
have spent $800 on a car that is only 3 years old in the past week and the
issue still does not seemed to be fixed. My question is, do you think the
service traction control/ABS light is on because of the valve cover that needs
to be replaced or would this be a completely different issue?

I also have a 2016 Chevy Cruze, 6 speed manual... I also have 64K miles on it. The first time I experienced this was in December I believe. I thought, at first, I had put in bad fuel... I was driving home from shopping, which was 120 miles away. It eventually went away... Today it happened again and I read that replacing the valve cover may solve this problem. I hate to take it into a shop and have them charge me too much for nothing... I understand it has something to do with the traction, but the engine light coming on is what alarms me. I take very good care of my car, I travel alot, but that shouldn't matter, it is made for the road...
