How do I replace a starter

Unhook thr battery. Get the car off the ground with a jack or ramps. ALWAYS USE JAVK STANDS. Unhook the wires to the starter. Unbolt the old starter. Install the new starter, use the shims if the new starter came with them. Hook the wires back up, making sure to tighten them very well. Hook up the battery. Start the car. If it works then get it down on the ground again.
