battery gauge needle moves back and forth fast

i turn my headlights on and the needle moves really fast i also direct hooked up a set of offroad lights to my low beams

Hello, My guess is that you hooked up the offroad lights in such a way that the gauge is confused by the additional load. You may want to double-check the wiring and look for alternate sources of energy for your new lights. Best of luck! CarGrrl
