Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the fuel pump and now the gauge reads past full when the key is on.

The fuel pump assembly also includes the float assembly for the fuel gauge readings. I would guess that during pump replacement, this float assembly was bumped or bent and stuck on the top position to give a constant full reading. Maybe bang on the tank bottom hoping to jar it loose so it floats again to give proper reading. Or a fuel gauge wire at the tank got grounded/pinched and that will give constant "full" readings. Take it to the person who replaced the pump.
