Battery or alternator

Battery light is on and battery acid is coming out of the
battery. Think it's over charging

Measure voltage engine running at the battery. Should be 13.5 to 14.7. If it is over 15, it is overcharging and the alternator is likely bad. An overcharging alternator will ruin your battery pretty quickly.
