The Ecno Stop/Start feature in Honda's CR-v

Asked by Guru2HSY8 Feb 28, 2020 at 08:05 AM about the 2020 Honda CR-V Touring AWD

Question type: General

If the engine fails to start using the Ecno feature while driving, can the driver
take the Ecno feature off to start the engine normally, or is that leaving me dead
in the water?

1 Answer

Honda engineers may be the best in the business. They're smart and the vehicles they make are smart too. Because starting a vehicle requires a large number of amps, the Idle Stop feature on the CR-V won't engage if the battery level is low, preventing it from turning off the vehicle and not being able to start it. If you check the user manual, there is a list of conditions under which the idle stop function will not be engaged to turn off the vehicle
