why does my fusible links blow? can i replace them with an inline fuse?

ive changed key tumbler, Headlights, starter, alternator, fusible links and battery. now my headlights are screwing up. truck runs and charges battery with no lights on. blinkers work . AC works. Cab lights work. Brake light work. but when I turn my head lights on my inline fuse off the battery [30a} gets hot and blows. This BLOWS. WTF?

Your going to have to trace the short down plain & simple if the fuselinks are blowing then there is no chance a regular fuse will not blow too.
