What part do I need if my truck can't be jumped but the lights turn on?

Asked by Madeline Aug 16, 2020 at 02:20 AM about the 1997 Nissan Pickup 2 Dr XE Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drove the truck for about 45 minutes, longer than usual, and left it parked
for an evening. I do not think any doors or lights were left on.

The battery is dead and won't jump. When attempting to start the engine,
there is no sounds at all. The lights do turn on, though.

I'll be fixing it myself, but I'd prefer to not do too much expensive or time
consuming guess work.

Thank you gurus!!!!!!

When the battery is super drained and the head lights are really dimmed it won't start up even with jumper cables. Unless you leave it charging for awhile.

You'd have to leave a charger on the battery for a while if it SUPER dead. If that doesn't work. Try checking all your fuses for broken metal wires. The hand book should tell you were they are. If they are all good then you just might be looking at a bad Ignition Switch I would maybe a starter but the starters usually make a clicking noise.
