Battery Drain

Asked by OliveTree Oct 17, 2019 at 07:01 AM about the 2020 Hyundai Elantra Limited FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2020 Elantra Limited with the
Ultimate Package battery just
died. The car has only 1600 miles
on it. The car did tell me that
external devices were draining the
battery, but nothing was
connected to it. Any ideas as to
why it died?

Yeah there's something maybe in the wiring harness or a bad ground going on or something I think. Previous owner may of had a stereo amp and left the wire or something. It should've thrown a code and if not the battery may becoming a dead cell. Hope it helps

Having same issue with my 2018 Elantra Limited. Issue points to AGM battery. Dealer is giving BS about it and wants me to pay for a new one. Right now, I have requested a replacement from Hyundai Canada.

Had the same problem. The GPS unit may never go to sleep which drians the battery. It is explained here: https://www.youcanic.com/guide/hyundai-battery-discharging-warning Scroll down to GPS System and it explains how you can reset it yourself.
