2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Seat Recliner problem

As I reclined my seat to lay down I tried to recline it
back and it had twisted on me. I aligned the rod with
the center of both gears but the problem still
continues. Any tips or help on how to get this back to
normal?

If the truck's still under warranty, have a dealer address this. Otherwise, it looks like the mechanism is broken. As the trucks so recent, go to an upholstery shop and see if they can fix it.
