'02 GT manual trans problem

I have an 02 eclipse GT. When you shift into 1st and 3rd, it pops back to neutral. If you hold it in gear and let out the clutch, it will stay in gear. Gear lube was changed in trans and no sign of metal. Does anyone have any suggestions?
