Ditto on that. A clogged catalytic converter will not let your car run as it should.

Do this test at night let the vehicle run and reach operating temperature also raise hood and check out manifold and exhaust system and see if any part of the system starts to glow red if so there is a clog somewhere in the system.

Also check air filter and clean throttle with throttle body cleaner add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.

No I havent but I did replace the spark plugs and air filter and also added gum out to the tank. It seemed to make a lil bit of a difference but doesn't fix the problem. Do you think I could have bad fuel injectors?

It definitely is a possibility but it seems more like the fuel filter is clogged that is what I would try first.

Did you clean throttle and add some sea foam fuel injector cleaner to gas tank and let idle for a while ? If does not help have a fuel pressure test done could be fuel pressure regulator then if that checks out ok fuel injectors.

I'm having the same problem with a Mercury sable I just purchased. Thought it was the catalac converter bit it wasn't.
