They came out with a recall on those year models. You clean the throttle body and reprogram the pcm. You can post you vin here and I can tell you if it has it or you can call or go by a dealer and they can tell you.

You're not supposed to clean those throttle bodies. They have a coating that can be ruined by chemicals. Check for a Recall or TSB (Technical Service Bulletin). Sometimes, the AIC fails or sticks too. Back in the late '80s, they had an internal bellows that would rupture and have the same symptoms BUT the car would "Moo" like a cow when you shut it down. Kinda funny whenever it happened.

They do make throttle body cleaner tracy. And fords recall tells you to clean it.
