Battery light on 2019 Jeep Cherokee

Asked by Cmsandrasue Apr 15, 2019 at 04:46 PM about the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2019 Jeep Cherokee had had battery
light on 3 times and stalls. Luckily I have
been safe both times. I leased it in Oct 2018
less than 5000 miles on it. Has anyone gotten
any resolution from this problem?

The alternator may not be charging the battery.

I’m having the same issue with my 2017 Cherokee. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the battery. Vehicle since has stalled twice. There is also a random ding notice that happens with no message popping up on the dashboard. I was told by Jeep today to call Chrysler customer service number and start documenting this issue.

Happened to me with my 2019 Jeep Cherokee... once in May 2019 at 7,000 miles. The dealership replaced the alternator. And it happened again two weeks ago (October 12, 2019) at 13,700 miles. The Jeep is at the dealership being checked out now but so far all they have found is a bunch of "high voltage" codes. No reason yet for the codes. No reason yet for the issue. It has a "star case" and Chrysler is working with the dealership, suggesting tests, etc. I will share the outcome if there is one.

My battery light just came on. I have a 2019 Jeep Limited - leased since July, 2018. Currently 17,038 miles on it. No reason for the battery light to pop on, just came on while driving. I checked the battery life on the dash and it read 11.9 (seems right in the middle of 8-14. Additionally, my heat sometimes just comes on for no reason and my radio will shut down and restart. I also had a period of time where the screen in my car was just colored lines.

My wife has a 2018 Latitude Plus. As we speak the car is being towed away. Died on her at a gas station. Would not start back up. Battery checks good. Has stalled on her twice before while driving. Chrysler dealer keeps saying they dont find anything wrong. This time I suspect possibly the alternator or computer. This is just another issue on top of her transmission that kicks like a horse. Have read that this is across the board a Jeep Cherokee Latitude issue. Will now seek to trade this car in on reliable vehicle. Heed warning, this vehicle is acting like a lemon, and that's a whole lot of lemons if this many people are experiencing this problem. It may even lead to a class action lawsuit for time and money wy spent on repairs on brand new vehicles.

Caronda again.... fast forward to current day 04/28/2020. My Jeep is doing the same thing again..... Noticed the ding sound about 3 weeks ago. Today the vehicle actually stalled. It started back up with no issue and was able to get it back home. I called the Jeep dealership to see if they knew of the problem.... no one knowwwssssss??? When this happened the last time I got an oil change and ta da, no issues at all... well until now I love my Jeep but I'm ready to let her go! Hopefully this time it will be just an oil change.

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited with 25,000, taking to the dealership today for the 4th time my battery light has came on and they are going to "run diagnostics" AGAIN on it. Have never found anything but all previous batteries tested bad on the previous 3 attempts. They even went to a parts store the last time less than a year ago and bought an after market battery to see if it was their batteries. I'm a Jeep person have been for years, but I'm about to find a different vehicle.

this is prob, too late but the problem is native to the 2.4L, they were placed on a v-6 trans and never coded . The dealer has to flash the computer.
