2019 Ford Edge Sel, engine died while driving

My good friend has a 2019 Ford Edge Sel, engine died while she was driving
with her daughter, luckily she had slowed for a turn off and drifted into the turn.
Engine would not restart. DEAD. Dealer says they won't help even though the
car is only 2and 1/2 years old
because it has 150,000 miles on it. Northern community and long commutes
to work, to anywhere really. Doesn't seem right.

150000 on a Ford Edge I’m surprised it ran that long without something going out. Of course a Dealer is going to say too bad and good luck. If your wanting to get it fixed then a independent shop is your best bet as the dealer is only in it for the money.

First you have to find out why the engine died. I suggest you have an independent mechanic diagnose this. The car's way out of warranty, mileage wise, and Ford won't help unless it's a recall covered thing. The mechanic should find this out too. After the car's review, go to the website Carcomplaints to see about any registered problems like yours. And contact Ford about any recalls and service bulletins that might help you.
