How can i tell if my speedometer is a digital or cable?

my speedometer died out on me at about 40mph, it bounced back n fourth then gave
out. i want to change it but i cant find it and i dont know if its digital or cable. is
there any way of telling?

look for a cable going into the top of the firewall on the drivers side of the car. make sure you arent looking at the throttle/clutch cables.

thanks now one quick question, is there like a color to this cable? n does it run just as a single cable?

Usually black, and its 2 pieces that join near the firewall in a coupler

ok sounds great does the speedometer have anything to do with engine stalling? cuz wen i drive it sometimes sounds like it stalls a bit before shifting gears?
