If you use an OBDII scan tool to delete Diagnostic Trouble Code(s), then how do you get the car I/M ready?

Question type: General

When you plug in an OBDII scan tool it should say: DTC 0 and IM Ready Yes
But after you get the check engin light and use the scanner to delete it it says: DTC 0
and IM Ready No.

How can you get it to say yes again because you need to be able to pass the
emissions test.

Thank you, but i just tried to use the RioRand RS300 CAN OBD 2 scanner today on my 2000 Mazda Protege and it gave me a link error. So i will now have to take it to a mechanic.
