06 GT mustang won't start please help!

Asked by Mela Nov 17, 2018 at 03:45 PM about the 2006 Ford Mustang GT Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It rained for about 3 days and my 06 ford gt wouldn't start. Tried jumping it off
and it still wouldn't start. Took the battery to auto zone it was at 100% so the
alternator is good. I was thinking it was the starter even though I had no issues
or signs with it before but I kept hearing a click so the starter solenoid coil is
getting power. Kept looking and found that some how the interior fuse box was
wet. Covered the car for a few days and dried the fuse box with a hair dryer
and it started. Didn't cover it lastnight because it wasn't raining but slightly icy
now the car won't start again it just clicks one time each time the ignition is
turned. Checked the interior fuse box and it is dry but the car want start the
radio comes on and so does the lights, along with the battery and engine light
remains lit. Please does anyone know what this could be?

A single click means loose batt conection somewhere. Try making sure the connections are nice and tight and free from corresion. That should do it.

the plastic cover between the windshield and the hood should be removed, you can get to it by removing the windshield wipers. Underneath that is where the water is supposed to drain and the 06-08 models have had a problem where it gets clogged and overflows. It might has messed up more than the fuse box or the fuse box is damaged more than it appears
