Subaru Outback mileage -- what's a good cost deduction for mileage?

Asked by GuruJ8LHK Aug 05, 2020 at 03:03 PM about the 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited AWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I'm looking to buy a used 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6R. I've found three that are
all listed for $25,000, but with different mileage: 56K, 53K and 50K. How much
should the price go down per, say, 1,000 miles? I like the 56K option a bit more
than the others, so I want to be able to talk down the price (and sound like I
kind of know what I'm talking about). Thanks!

There is no significant difference between those three mileages. Evaluate on other things like condition, options etc. You can always offer less!

Your looking at the wrong issues. The difference between 50K and 56K miles has nothing to do with the value of the vehicle. How was the car driven during it's life, has the regular maintenance been performed? What is the overall condition of the vehicle, options. Unless you know the personal driving habits of the original owners, mileage is insignificant. Look well beyond the odometer, ask for service records.
